A Bodhisattva is not a far away concept of Divine beings. You are a Bodhisattva. Once you embody your Higher Self, you manifest the Bodhisattva on Earth.

Regarding not residing in Nirvana (Obviously transcendent stage)...The Bodhisattva does tap into Nirvana consciousness, however this is to bring Heaven to Earth. It means to not reside in Nirvana to avoid helping beings. It means to bring Nirvana to Earth to help beings on Earth who are suffering.
