Dear Ones, the changes taking place on the Earth, are prompted by changes taking place in the Cosmos. Every celestial body, every, planet star and moon in your Galaxy are in harmonic symphony, in support of what is happening in 2012 on your planet Earth. We have told you before that your religions have excluded the science, and that science has omitted the spiritual. Now in 2012, the two are joining full circle. Your scientists are beginning to recognize that there is intelligent design in the Cosmos, and your religious leaders are beginning to acknowledge that 'you are not alone'.
There are visionary academics and writers such as Graham Hancock, David Childress, Richard Hoagland and Semir Osmanagich who are leading the way in revealing more to you about humanity's true origins and history. And we tell you removing the shadow is tantamount to clarity and wisdom.
The Cosmos is shifting, physics are expanding. You are discovering that the Laws of Physics, which you thought were written in stone, are shifting and expanding. That expansion is multidimensionality. And moreover Masters, you are discovering that thought, divine thought is the creator of all that is...and that you are a part of that. Moons, Planets & the Living Cosmos
Lunar effects on planets, solar systems and indeed Galaxies are extremely important and vastly influential. You academics are becoming more and more aware of the myriad intelligence & energetics of planetary, stellar & indeed lunar gravities.
Your own planet has had more than one moon, in its history. We tell you a truth that many have already speculated...and that is that your present moon was 'put in place' billenia after the Earth's formation. At that time, it was much closer to the planet, and the backward drift it is currently orbiting within, is much further than its original placement.
Does it not seem very interesting & compelling that your present moon is capable of perfectly concealing your Sun during a total eclipse? Do you understand then, that if the moon were not on the precise orbit it is in, not located on the specific distance between earth and sun that this would not occur? Perhaps you will consider that an intricate engineering design & plan is in place!
We also share with you that one of the moons in your solar system is artificial, and it is a stabilizing auto regulated computer. Evidence of its unusual properties and design has been captured in the photos of the Cassini mission. These photos are raising serious speculation among your scientists.
Saturn & Iapetus
One of the moons of Saturn, is a technically conceived construct, and was put in place for specific purpose. Its gravity and orbit influence Saturn. And we tell you that your Earth is very influenced by the energy of Saturn, and thus by the effect of Iapetus on the Saturnian system.
Most of you on the discovery path of metaphysics acknowledge to some degree the influence of astrology on humanity and the earth. Astrology is not folklore, rather it is science of how the planets affect you through their succinct gravitational waves and energetic emissions. Every planet in your solar system exudes unique frequecial gravitational waves as well as a 'singature' energy. The energy is plasmic, subatomic charged particles that are projected geometrically through the northern poles of each planet. In a manner of speaking they are similar to 'white holes' in the sense that the energy projected is hyper-dimensional, meaning that it is multidimensional energy, received from higher dimension and projected into your solar system. The projection poles have a geometric signature, and that polar geometry is determined by the rotational factors (inner and outer torque) of the planet and the vibratory rate of the hyper-dimensional energy emission. Every planet and moon in your solar system supports the earth and vice-versa.
There is somewhat of a simplistic comparative analogy between planets and their moons, suns and their planets and atoms with circulating electrons. Just as the addition of one orbiting electron changes the energy and nature of an atom, and indeed molecule, additions of moons change the resonant energy of each planet. Each planet affects the energy of its stellar centre.
The Voyager & Cassini Saturn Probes
The images sent back to Earth by the missions of Voyager and more recently, the Cassini probe have revealed specific anomalies about Iapetus that are intriguing, and are perhaps some of the most uncloakable evidence of extra terrestrial existence. Although in truth your own planet abounds with such evidence in what has been for the most part, dismissed and unacknowledged; appropriately termed forbidden archeology. The Voyager and Cassini probes have revealed quite a few extraordinary anomalies on Saturn's moon Iapetus, including its 4 million-foot-long equatorial wall, hexagonal craters, box-like surface structures, and tower-like antennae structure, as well as its dark/light aspects and unusual circular orbit.
Though this is explained away by main stream science, we tell you even now your more enlightened astrophysicist are becoming increasingly aware that Iapetus (moon of Saturn) is 'artificial', though most dare not as yet seriously express such nonconventional belief. We tell you that the moon called Iapetus which satellites the extreme outer orbit of the 'Ringed-Planet' was put in place for specific purpose by the highly advanced extra terrestrials. Iapetus is of intelligent design and there is great purpose in this.
Visionary
In Arthur C Clarkes visionary book, 2001 a Space Odyssey, Dr Bowman, the main character, discovers that the true purpose of the mission is to explore Iapetus, the third-largest moon of Saturn, in the hope of contacting the society that buried the monolith's on Earth and on the Moon.

As he nears Iapetus, he sees a similar monolith on its surface. He decides to go out in one of the extra-vehicular pods to make a closer inspection of the monolith. Programmed for just such an occurrence, the monolith reveals its true purpose as a star gate when it opens and pulls in Bowman's pod. Before he vanishes, Mission control hears him proclaim: "I'm inside Iapetus...The things hollow and it goes on forever ! ... Oh my God, it's full of stars!"

Interestingly the book was written years before the Voyager and Cassini craft revealed the 'black hole' on Iapetus. The Cassini mission also revealed images that show the unusual characteristics of radar reflectivity on Iapetus, as well as mystifying anomalies of light and dark, brightness variation as if portions of the moon were illuminated by an artificial or internal process. It was also revealed that an unusual linear wall 12 miles high, 12 miles wide and over 800 miles long, appearing much like a symmetrical weld, stood in a straight line across the equator of Iapetus. This was not un-noticed by your NASA scientists. One took the risky stance of speculating that Iapetus appeared to be 'artificially modified' and represented the best case evidence of advanced life in the solar system. Visionary scientist Richard Hoagland has made many conjunctures about Iapetus, many of which are indeed correct.

Your scientists are well aware that Iapetus orbits Saturn in an unusual 15 degree elliptical path, affording a interesting non parallel route around Saturn. All other moons rotate at precisely the same plane as the rings of Saturn. The moon Phoebe, alters at 5 degrees and flows in the reverse direction.

We tell you that Iapetus is of 'ancient' Arcturian construct. Its architecture is indeed a derivative of the Platonic solids, and is in fact what may be termed a truncated dodecahedron. The Cassini images reveal that it is not truly spherical as are most celestial bodies, and in fact has geometric lines that adhere to the dodecahedron mass, although billions of years of ice & dust collation on the surface skew the signature dodec-shape somewhat.

Those of you who are familiar with the science of that termed 'Sacred Geometry' are aware that tetrahedrons will fit perfectly inside the polyhedronal dodecahedron. The flattened surfaces that appear as platelets on the surface of Iapetus have been surmised by some visionary scientists as geo surfaces of the tetrahedrons, and we tell you they are correct. This is verified by the specific 120 degree angled star tetrahedronal spacing.
Iapetus is indeed an 'artificial' moon, constructed with purpose, and specifically placed in its succinct orbit around Saturn. It was put in place to modulate the gravities & frequency of Saturn's Crystalline symphonics, projected frequencially by what you term the crystal Rings of Saturn.

The Rings of Saturn
Humanity has always known that Saturn was different from the other planets. Its incredible rings stood out in a serendipitous beauty that differentiated it from the other planets, once humanity regained the ability to observe celestial bodies. We tell you that Saturn and her rings play an incredible role in your solar system.
The rings of Saturn are in constant flux, and provide the vibration coherency that modulates the resonance of your solar system, and indeed the Ascension process ongoing of the Earth. The rings of Saturn are composed of unique crystals that emit a harmonic vibratory resonance, a coherent frequencial song.
Saturn represents the stargate/entry point of Arcturius into your solar system physical and nonphysical realms. More complex, it is the wormhole of the Torus effect for your system. As observed by your Voyager explorer craft and indeed the more recent Cassini mission, the north pole of Saturn is composed of a remarkable double concentric hexagon, and the south pole is an elliptical swirling ovid. This mystifies your main stream astrophysist. It is a phenomenon of 'base-60' hyper dimensional torsion physics, as yet not grasped by your current science.
We tell you the hexagonal pole of Saturn emits incredible energy, far more energy than the planet absorbs from your sun. (as do all planets in your solar system). The hexagonal geometric pattern is an energy signature, a wave pattern indicative of the torsion-energy level being emitted. The incredible energy is coming from another hyper-dimension of the Cosmos.
The entire 'Saturnal System' is an immense regulatory force that affects not only your solar system, but the Earth and humanity. Saturn, the rings of Saturn, and several of its moons, particularly Enceladus emit crystalline harmonics, massive waves of gravitational energies and plasma. This directly affects the energy of humanity at this time.
Strong correlations absolutely exist between the energetic state of the earth's field and the effect on the field of each human. Energies such as coronal mass ejections, and indeed the plasma ratio of anions to cations not only effect human behavior, but by induction effect the ability of the human Auric Field and chakric Mer-Ka-Na to more efficiently access the manifold of multidimensionality, parallel realms and time holograms.
Just as you are aware that magnetic portals exist on the planet Earth, collating the suns massive energies , so are there crystalline portals that collate the coherency of plasma emissions & light waves.
All forces that alter the earth's electromagnetic & crystalline fields are also changing yours. The Saturn system is generating an accelerated coherency in the Ascension of your Earth, for indeed the Ascension can truly be defined as the expansion of the earth's dimensional matrix into higher fields of crystalline resonance. As such the Crystalline Grid is absolutely receiving the crystalline codes from the Saturn system.
Iapetus is a massive auto-regulated computer that is involved in tracking and indeed moderating the Saturnian system, you see. Its specific orbital path is aimed at influencing the Rings and pattern waves emitted from the icy crystals. It triangulates with Saturn's reverse orbit moon, Phoebe, and Saturn itself in this effort.
The Saturnian system played a major role in combination with the Cosmos and indeed the Earth's moon in the explosion of life on your planet that took place in what is termed the 'Cambrian Radiation'.
(Insert Note: The Cambrian explosion or Cambrian radiation was the relatively rapid appearance (over a period of many millions of years), around 530 million years ago, of most major animal phyla, as demonstrated in the fossil record, accompanied by major diversification of organisms including animals, phytoplankton, and calcimicrobes.)
The current activation of the Saturnian system is again playing a major role in the shifts of the planet. Specifically in the environmental alterations and energy shifts, that will code the crystal grid as well as the crysto sun disc within the Crystal Vortexes of Arkansas and Brazil. This synergizes symbiotically with the biological shifts in the human into opalesque crysto- silicon base body.
The coherence within the field generated by your Mer-Ka-Na Chakric system, is directly influenced into more vibrant optimal states by the crystalline coherency generated from Saturn. There is a stability therein. Those who are in a more incoherent state are more mal-affected by the ongoing changes in the earth's field while those in a coherent state are less affected.
The Earth's Moon
The Earth's Moon enables physical life to occur on the planet.
Beyond this essential enabling, your moon additionally affects humanity far more than most of you in current times recognize. You are familiar with the moon through your recognized sciences and through your mythology and fables. Some of you are aware of the moons influences in what the main stream considers to be loric or pseudo science, termed astrology, although more advances civilization of your past and future recognize astrology for its validity in terms of its effect on your emotional, physical and mental aspects.
The moon provides vast service to the Earth, but the Earth also reciprocates, and provide advantageous service to the moon.
The Moon effects humanity in many spiritual means that are not as well remembered, not as well understood in current times as in the past. The Moon is absolutely conscious and sentient, and in many ways is responsible for the Earth's ability to support not only physical life, but the spiritual development of humankind whilst in the Earth-Plane energies.
The phases of the moon allow for specific periods that the adept human can utilize to seek deeper understanding. Certain phases are embellished with both gravity and light that absolutely balances the human Auric Field , which of course includes the mental and emotional bodies. We will tell you that without this living 'lunar' cycle, your ability to dream, to enter into that essential field of re-calibration, which you term the sleeping state, would not be as easily or effectively accessed.
Just as the Moon brings reflection, offers light in areas of darkness, so then does the Living Moon' assist you in gaining clarity in your life's movement, in gaining a great and greater understanding of how to move forward in areas of uncertainty or shadow.
The reflective light of the moon is very different from the direct light of the sun. It influences you quite differently. Yet, in many ways it is just as essential to your well being as is the light of the sun. The lunar effect is that there is prolific correlation between specific stages of the Earth's lunar cycle and the emotional field and aura of humans that is far more than just variation in light levels. Lunar field waves vary according to moon phases.
Crysto-Electric Aura
You are aware that human biology generates an electromagnetic field similar to that of the earth. And we tell you that the human aura is shifting into a Crysto-Electric Field (CEF), with greater & different arrays of circuitry, frequency, potency and colors. Similarly the earth's ionosphere and magnetosphere are shifting.
2012 is an extreme year of shift. While a glorious event, the 2012 year of Ascension is also an intense time of great frequencial movement. As the 144 Crystalline Grid completes on the 12-12-12, telluric frequencies accelerate and drastically so. Strong correlations have been drawn between the state of the earth's field and the effect on the auric field of each human. We tell you that anything that is changing the earth's field is also affecting yours. It is the physics of induction. As such, the human aura must convert to crysto-electric Mer-Ka-Na in order to optimally up-shift and manage the stress of these alterations. The new circuitry operates in coherent light.

It is a prolific time, and shadows are being removed. Energies are bombarding the planet, and doing so in an intelligent and divine benevolence.
The tremendous energies now bathing the earth, the grid and humanity are myriad. It is coronal mass ejections, gamma energy and a harmonic showering from the planets, moons and stars, from sources that are unimaginable to your scientists. Saturn plays a key role, as does your moon.

Upheavals are essential
Many of you are feeling quite depressed as time passes and you get no personal sense of progress on your individual paths to awakening. In fact, everything seems to have come to a grinding halt. It has not; it just seems like that. Very many of you are on Earth to be energy conduits to assist humanity and the planet in the awakening process. Being an energy conduit is very hard on your human bodies and some of you are experiencing this as extreme tiredness. You are not alone in this, but it may well be that you have no one with whom you can talk about it, and maybe you wonder if you are not, perhaps, going a little crazy as the world around you seems to be going on as normal – crises everywhere! And everyone is operating as though nothing untoward is happening!
Behind the scenes an enormous amount of progress has been made, while the western mainstream media continue to focus on the economic troubles, the political shenanigans, and the unusual weather that many areas are experiencing. So you are getting a sense that something is up, but you want more — preferably dramatic evidence that the necessary and essential changes for your awakening are happening. Rest assured, they most certainly are, and the physical evidence is beginning to show.
Your expectations have been raised; the Golden Age is supposedly almost upon you, and yet. . . . It is difficult for you to maintain a positive attitude as you experience this sense of uncertainty, but if you will turn inwards and ask for help, you will find some peace and a reduction in your stress levels. The big push is on, and as a result the divine energy flow enveloping the planet is very intense, and all you energy conduits are in flood, hence your tiredness. You are doing great work for which you are highly honored. So hang in there — all is divinely taken care of.
A flood of divine energy is of course totally cleansing, and the cleansing that is going on is the cleansing of all the negative attitudes and behaviors with which humanity has been engaging so enthusiastically for so many eons. Those of you who can sense or see energy can indeed become aware of the cleansing. Focus on it, and observe how effective it is. You will be able to see the shining auras of those who have released all or most of their unloving baggage as they move forwards towards their awakening, demonstrating to all around them the immense power of that divine energy flow, and encouraging all to engage with it.
This is indeed a time of great change, great upheaval. Changes that humanity has needed to make, has been implored to make, and has avoided making are now occurring anyway, because they can no longer be delayed. These upheavals are essential, and are an extremely positive sign that you are moving forwards towards your divine and heavenly destiny.
Your human condition is quite strange, in that you often know that something needs to be addressed, taken care of, resolved, and you spend much time discussing possible ways to deal with the situation, and then another situation occurs. You then move on to discuss the new one, leaving the previous one forgotten, or at least put on the back burner. And so issues mount with no sign of resolution. Tempers become frayed, and the blame game starts. Strange indeed! But now, with all the spiritual assistance flooding the planet, that is changing.
It is amazing how quickly ingrained and unloving attitudes are being released all across the world. Humanity has been gripped by a sense of urgency, an increasing awareness that attitudes and behaviors must alter drastically or human existence will become unsupportable on Planet Earth. This awareness is growing rapidly, and quite soon even your politicians will start to become aware, as their constituents demand change more and more vociferously. All is moving forward very satisfactorily as this awareness of the oneness of humanity – for one to live well, all must live well – spreads and spreads. The divine outcome, which was assured at the moment of separation, is coming to fruition beautifully and perfectly, just as divinely intended.

July 4, 2012, is Independence Day in the United States of America. On that special day, Americans will celebrate all of the things that our Founding Fathers intended for this country: freedom, liberty, equality, prosperity, the ability to worship as we choose, and the pursuit of happiness. As millions of Americans focus on everything our Founding Fathers intended for us to experience, let's join together and expand the collective cup of our consciousness to envelop all of the governments of the world. Let's invoke the Company of Heaven to amplify our efforts a thousand times a thousandfold. Together we will heal Humanity's past abuse of power and we will pave the way for a higher order of Divine Government. A government OF Humanity's I AM Presence, BY Humanity's I AM Presence, FOR Humanity's I AM Presence.

Remember, as we invoke the Light of God for this activity of Light our unified efforts are being amplified a thousand times a thousandfold by the Company of Heaven.

These invocations are stated in the first person so we will each experience them personally, but we are simultaneously invoking this Light on behalf of every government and every person on Earth.

I AM breathing in and out deeply and rhythmically. I absorb every Holy Breath into my Heart Flame. With every inbreath, I AM cleansing the cells, molecules, atoms, and electrons of my physical, etheric, mental, and emotional bodies. With every outbreath, I AM expanding the Breath of the Holy Spirit into the physical plane of Earth to bless all Life. What to Do in Life ,

God said:

Be of good cheer is My main message for you today. Such a simple thing, it hardly seems necessary to mention. Why wouldn't someone be of good cheer on a sunny day like this - or a rainy day like this? Grumpiness arises regardless of the weather. The weather is not responsible for your frame of mind. You are.

Grumpy days will descend uninvited. When they descend, let go of them. Instead of being grumpy, why not enjoy yourself? Even grumpiness doesn't have to deter you from good cheer.

Look, if you slip and fall in the mud, what is there to do but laugh at yourself? Maybe you slipped in the mud so you would laugh at yourself.

Notice I said to laugh at yourself. I did not say to laugh at anyone else. A good sport does not laugh at someone else, only himself, unless, of course, the other person is laughing, and then you can join in.

What else is there to do in life but develop a sense of humor? What else in there to do in life but enjoy it?

If you want joy in life, take on the intent to enjoy it. This does not mean to be false. This means to say: "Okay, I fell down in the mud. Shall I stay down in it? Shall I spend my whole day groveling in the mud, even after I've climbed out of it? I will have to wash my muddied clothes as soon as I get home, yet I can clear my mind right now on the spot. I'm not going to let a little mud accumulate in my mind and spoil my day. No sirree."

And if you don't slip in the mud today, and you find that your boss is displeased, do you have to be displeased too? Does someone else's surliness have to sully your mind? Perhaps you have thought it must. Perhaps you have thought that you have to copy someone else's bad mood. Perhaps you have thought your mood has to match someone else's.

Be of good cheer. Be serious in response to everyone. In response to yourself, move on. If your boss or your wife or anyone is displeased with you, be courteous and carry on. They will get over it by and by. As for yourself, get over it now.

The key word today is now.

You have gotten over much worse. If you're going to get over something sooner or later, get over it sooner. There is no good reason to ruin your day. There is every good reason to have a good day.

We are talking common sense.

When you are in a slump, your mind has suggested that you must be in a slump because your mind says that B must follow A. Change your mind then. Change it now.

You are under no obligation to stay in what is called a bad mood. Moods are temporary things. Moods are going to change anyway. If your mood is dark, change it now. You are not to be at the mercy of your moods. Moods are not the master over you. You owe no loyalty to your moods. You don't have to honor them. You don't have to keep them. Let them go. Step out of one mood into another. Unless you favor dark moods, step out of them.

You can change your sweater. You can change anything. Maintain light moods. Abandon yucky moods. Make light of yourself. Respect others' moods, but not your moods unless your moods are already of good cheer.

While getting ready for school today, my 16-year-old daughter made a point of coming into my room to give me a big hug and kiss.

When I asked her the proverbial question, "What do you want?" she replied, "Nothing momma. You always tell us to have a good day before we leave the house, but I was thinking about who tells you to have a good day and lets you know how much you are loved."

I am so touched by the capacity of love and understanding that comes from my children. My 15-year-old son asked me last night if there was a way for him to get a summer job this year in order to help us pay our bills. Unfortunately, in our area, he must be 16. When telling him "no," he said that was ok because he had a lawn mower and as long as the grass grows, he could help out.

Both of my children depend on me so much because I am a single parent, but just when I think I will not be able to provide for them they come up with ways to help out. I completely understand that I will still have to find a way to pay the bills as I do not want my children taking up the slack. They are children, and have enough to do with school and marching band, and the volunteer work they do with the homeless. But for now the fact that they have stepped up and offered to help without anyone asking touches me.

When my daughter was 2 years old, I remember rushing to get to work, and when I was at the front door, fussing at her to hurry up and come to the door. When she appeared at the door she had a bag that she was holding open. I said, "We don't have time for this." She stopped me and said, "Fill it with love momma." I fell to my knees and hugged her and then kissed her and said "Thank you". From that moment forward she would bring the bag and I would bring the love to the door before we left for school and work.

Today she brought me the love.

Just Decide, Friend

I was waiting to pick up a friend at the airport when I had one of those life changing experiences, the kind that you sometimes hear other people talk about, the kind that sneaks up on you unexpectedly. This one occurred a mere two feet away from me.

As I was straining to locate my friend amongst the line of passengers exiting the airport, I noticed a man coming towards me carrying two light bags. He stopped right next to me to greet his family.

First he motioned to his youngest son (maybe 6 years old) as he laid down his bags. He crouched down and they gave each other a long, loving hug. As they seperated enough to look in each other's face, I heard the father say, "Its too good to see you, son I missed you so much!" His son smiled somewhat shyly, averted his eyes and replied softly,"Me too dad!"

Then the man stood up and gazed in the eyes of his oldest son (maybe 9 or 10 years old) and while cupping his son's face in his hands said," You are already quite the young man. I love you very much." They too shared a very loving and tender hug.

While this was happining a baby girl was squirming excitedly in her mother's arms, never once taking her little eyes off the wonderful sight of her returning father. The man said "Hi, baby girl!" as he gently took the child from her mother. He kissed her face all over and then held her close to her chest while rocking her from side to side. The little girl instantly relaxed and simply laid her head on his shoulder, motionless in pure contentment.

After several moments, he handed his daughter to his eldest son and declared, "I have saved the best until last!" and proceeded to give his wife, the most loving kiss I ever remember seeing.

He gazed into her eyes for several seconds and then silently mouthed "I love you so much." They started looking into each others eyes, beaming big smiles at one another, while holding both hands. For an instant they reminded me of newlyweds, but I knew by the age of their kids that they couldn't possibly be.

I puzzled about it for a moment then realized how totally engrossed I was in this wonderful display of unconditional love not more than an arm's length away from me. I suddenly felt uncomfortable, as if I was invading something sacred, but was amazed to hear my own voice nervously ask, "Wow! How long have you two been married?" "We've been together 14 years in total and married for 12 of those." he replied, without breaking his gaze from his lovely wife's face."Well then how long have you been away?" I asked. The man finally turned and looked at me, still beaming his smile,"Two whole days".

Two days?! I was stunned by the intensity of greeting, I had assumed he had been gone for at least several weeks - If not months. I know my expression betrayed me, I said almost offhandedly, hoping to end my intrusion with some semblance of grace, "I hope my marriage is still that passionate after 12 years!"

The man suddenly stoped smiling and looked straight into my eyes and with forcefulness that burned right into my soul, he said something that just left me a different person. He said, "Don't hope,friend, just decide!" Then he flashed me his wonderful smile again, shook my hand and said "God Bless!" With that he and his family turned and strode away together.

I was still watching that exceptional man and his special family walking away when my friend came up to me and asked," What are you looking at?" Without hestiating, and a with a curious sense of certainty, I replied, "My future!" "I wish I could be such a wondeful wife of such wonderful man."

A Circle of Kindness Started by a 10 Year Old Girl

I was shopping at my local supermarket., as I normaly have for years. One particular day, I had done about 2 weeks worth of shopping and was headed toward the register to pay for my groceries. After the cashier had scanned my items and I had bagged them up, she stated that the total was $150.

I reached into my back right pocket to grab the money to pay and noticed that there was no money in there. I started to get nervous. I knew my pocket book was in the car and I was sure I had put the money in my back right pocket. I look at cashier with wet eyes and a confused look not knowing what to do. There were people behind me on the line. She told me to speak with the courtesy counter.

I laughed and said, "Really? It's cash, no one would hand that in!"

I said I would be right back and ran to my truck to get out more money to pay my bill, money that was to be used to pay another bill. I ran back inside and handed money to the cashier. She again prompted me to ask the courtesy desk, "You never know..." she said. I laugh and said "okay".

I decided that there was no harm in checking so I walked up to a women behind the counter and said "I have to ask, did anyone turn in cash by any chance?". She asked "How much?". My face then lit up. "$200 in the form of one hundred dollar bills." I replied. She said, "Actually, yes, someone did!".

I was so surprised! "Who? I want to thank them." She points to a young girl about 10 years old and says, "She did."

I walked over to the mom and hugged her. She said, "It wasn't me, it was my daugther". I said "I know, I wanted thank you both, although she found it ... it's becuase of you that I got this back." I was so happy, I was almost in tears.

The next day at work, a person in another department offered me ticeks to the circus. He handed me 5 tickets. Almost instantly that young girls face popped in my head. After work I went back to the supermarket and stopped at the courtesy counter and asked if they had any idea who that women was? She smiled and said, "Yes, actually I do. She is a friend of mine". Oh good, I was so happy. I asked her to do me a favor and pass along these 5 tickets to her and say thank you from me.

She told me that the family of the little girl who found my money don't have very much so they would really appreciate this. She also said that they have 3 children, so five was the prefect number of tickets! "Wow," I thought.

At first, I had I felt a little wierd bringing those tickets to the store but I am SO glad I did!
Lesson: Never think twice about doing someting nice for someone.

A Shoe Seller Walks in the Shoes of Kindness

Today, I felt terrible. My head was full of problems and confusion. I decided to take a walk even though I didn't know where I would go. The most extraordinary thing happened when I was out on this walk.

I saw an old man sitting on a chair. He was a seller of second-hand shoes. I thought he looked at least 70 years old. He seemed so tired and nobody was buying his shoes. I wanted to give him something but I had not brought anything with me.

Then, a little girl came toward him. I heard the child say, "Grandfather, may I polish your shoes?" That old man took pity on her, smiled and he gave her a shoe to polish.

The girl said, "I polish the shoe because I need money to buy my brother a new school uniform."
I heard this and tears came to my eyes. The old man answered, "Oh, little girl. Just stop doing this. Come with me and I will buy you a uniform." Then they walked to a market (I followed behind) and he bought her a uniform.

The girl was so happy. She said, "Thank you so much for doing this. May God bless you." Then she left, leaving the old man smiling.

He walked away from the market, but I stopped him. I whispered in his ear, "You are a hero! Thank you for your kindness!" As I walked away, I glanced back and I could see him still smiling.

I was blown away by the kindness I had just seen. Someone who had so little themselves, was able to show such incredible generosity! Amazing! My own sadness had completely disappeared, chased way by the light of this kind act.

I began realizing that I have a lot to be thankful for. I hope, some day, I can show my appreciation of what I have by following the example of the old man who only had a little, but shared it so beautifully with someone who had nothing.

The Doc who has charged $5/visit for over 55 years

Charging the price of a fancy cup of coffee, Dr. Russell Dohner has cared for Rushville, an Illinois town of 4,300 people, for more than half a century, delivering 3,500 babies, and never taking a vacation — or even an entire day off.

Rushville, Ill., is the kind of place where backyards have gardens instead of grass, and sunflowers wave in the wind. A tiny town, just 4,300 people, named for a doctor and settled by the men who marched back from the War of 1812. Rushville was built on government land, halfway between St. Louis and Chicago, as a gift to veterans. Those who did not come back got a statue on the courthouse square and were called heroes. “In a mercenary world,” a waiting patient told me, “this place is an oasis.”

But there is another sort of hero in Rushville today — one the town treasures, and can also touch. Dr. Russell Dohner has been looking after his neighbors for 55 years, charging them about what we pay for a fancy cup of coffee: five bucks a visit.

Making a difference

Doc Dohner doesn’t believe in tossing things away, and that keeps costs down. The only thing modern in his office is medicine.

Most of his nurses have been with him nearly as long as his furniture. They’re paid well because Doc works around the clock. He will go anywhere, at any time, to help those in need, often arriving before emergency crews. He once saved a small boy from smothering to death in a corncrib, once climbed down into a coal mine to help rescue four men.

Dohner broke his own back a few years ago and has had a heart attack — the only times he’s ever closed his clinic. He took time off until patients started coming to his house seeking medical care.
He does have help. Doc brought half the Rushville hospital staff into the world, including the woman who runs the place, Lynn Stambaugh. She used to wash dishes at the hospital. Dohner inspired her to go to nursing school.

I asked her why Doc never burned out.

"Well, I think because every day he makes a difference to at least one person, and if you can do that, you can go on.”

The morning we first met, back in 1983, Dohner had been to surgery twice, prepped a broken arm, handled two emergency cases, checked on 50 patients and delivered three babies. It was not yet 10:30.

No days off

He has only one hobby: trees. He’s donated 10,000 of them to this prairie town. Now and then he does slip away to go fishing on a Thursday afternoon, but he’s usually in his tie, and always near a phone.

He has not, in 55 years, had a vacation, not even a full day off. What would he do, if he did take a day off?

“I would like to go to Missouri,” Doc says.

Missouri is only 58 miles west of Rushville.

“Yes, but I have to take care of my patients first.”

The last time Doc left Illinois was during World War II. He was a military policeman in the Army, guarding President Harry Truman. “I was close enough to touch him,” Doc smiles, “but he wouldn’t have liked that.”

Dr. Dohner was born 85 years ago on a nearby farm, one of seven children. He worked to pay his own way through Northwestern University medical school.

He had his heart set on being a big-city cardiologist, but decided, “Rushville needed a doctor, so I stayed. It’s the way it’s got to be, if I take care of what comes.”

Russell Dohner has won dozens of awards for the quality of his practice and was runner-up for Country Doctor of the Year. Every morning before the sun peeks over the water tower, dozens of people are crammed into his waiting room.

He takes no appointments. Those who are seriously ill use the back door to get immediate attention; others sit for an hour or more to visit a doctor who knows more about them than some of their families do.

The first baby he delivered now drives her granddaughter 30 miles for an office visit. “When your little girl gets carried to surgery by the doctor instead of one of the nurses, she will learn to trust him, too,” she said.

Doc has no children of his own — unless you count the 3,500 babies he’s delivered. That’s more than the population of Rushville.

Meditating With Dinosaurs...Really?

When I first encountered Pascal's words, I felt like they were telling me, in a poetic way, to sit down and shut up, and that just felt, well... sort of rude. It also felt a bit insulting, in suggesting that for myself or for others, we bring a chunk of our suffering onto ourselves because we're too cowardly to sit quietly and face our thoughts and our feelings. Over time, however, the quote grew on me. I began to see its truth based on my own experience and from many years of listening to clients describe the pain that comes from not feeling connected to themselves.

Finding time to sit quietly in a room is no easy task for any of us. I know for myself, even before having kids, it was hard to find time for such non-activity. Life never seemed to lack things to do and so it never felt like a good idea to just sit in a room and do nothing for even a brief amount of time. Somehow, though, I found ways to carve out time for contemplative practices such as meditation, prayer, and yoga -- sensing and then experiencing their value.

During my decade of parenthood, I've sometimes felt like a character from a cartoon strip, especially when I find myself hushing those around me in my attempts to achieve a calm inner-state. I've come to laugh at myself in these moments, realizing how far I must be from achieving this desired state if I'm needing to quiet those around me in order to feel its precarious presence. I can still recall my first attempts at resurrecting a meditation practice after having children. I realized, even then, that I'd need to become less rigid in my ways -- that instead of waiting until I could find some Zen-like conditions of purity and simplicity, I'd be better off just plopping my bottom down in the middle of whatever room I was in, when any sort of brief opportunity arouse. It was clear to me that such moments were likely to be my only chance to still my thoughts and turn my attention within.

One afternoon, as I opened my eyes, I realized that I was encircled by a gathering of plastic dinosaurs, along with tiny action figures and a scattering of legos in various shapes and colors. I sighed, realizing that this was the new backdrop of my life, and that if I wanted to keep my spirituality alive, such efforts would need to occur right in the midst of this clutter and chaos. I also realized that if I was going to pursue any sort of quieting practice without losing my sanity or pushing away my family members with a constant chorus of "Shhhhh," I was going to need to see the derailment of my spiritual practice as being a part of my spiritual practice. Years later, I came to see the gift in this -- recognizing that my children had actually taught me more about flexibility than I had ever learned on my yoga mat.

Regardless of whether we have children or not, flexibility becomes an essential ingredient when our lives are busy. In part, it's essential because our busyness leaves us at higher risk for interruptions, and we must find some way to work with these inconveniences so that we don't give up entirely on our hopes of staying connected to ourselves. If Pascal's words carry any truth, then we busy people are probably the ones most likely to create just the sorts of problems that can arise from losing touch with ourselves. We're more prone to feel the confusion that comes from moving so quickly that we don't notice our gut sense of right and wrong, or our intuition about what needs to happen next.

Even if we only have a minute or two -- only time to take in three or four conscious breaths and listen within for a brief moment -- it's worth experimenting with how this can make a difference in the quality of our day. Try doing this while sitting in your chair, or if you feel so moved, push aside some of the kids' toys, the dog's bones, or the pile of laundry -- and sit down on the floor right in front of you. Experiment with Pascal's message for yourself.

My Feet Are Off The Ground'

This morning I awoke and was so frustrated about all of the stuff that I'm dealing with in trying to get this studio open.

I was about to open my mouth & start complaining when I remembered something that happened to me a year ago.

I was walking to my car when this woman who appeared to be homeless started walking towards me. I'm ashamed to say this but I thought, 'I don't feel like being hustled today.' Then I got quickly convicted. I felt guilty so I started digging in my pocket for some money. As she got closer I noticed that

she had the kindest eyes that I had ever seen.

As I was reaching into my pocket she started to speak. I thought, 'Here goes the sales pitch'. She said 'Excuse me sir, I need some shoes. Can you help me?' My eyes filled with water because I remember being out on the streets and having only one pair of run over shoes. I was taken aback for a second.

I took her inside the studio and had my wardrobe people find shoes in her size. As she put the shoes on she started crying, praising God and thanking Jesus, and saying, 'My feet are off the ground! My feet are off the ' ground! Several of the wardrobe people started crying. I was crying. But I never forgot those words. 'My feet are off the ground!' I thought, 'Wow! All she wanted was some shoes.'

She quickly disappeared and never asked me for a dime. I realized that I still had the money in my hand so I went out looking for her. She was gone just that quick so I looked all around the neighbourhood for her. I found her standing on a corner looking down at her shoes, still crying. I was so touched. I asked her how she had gotten homeless. She told me that she had AIDS and that she was waiting to get into a shelter.. She said that her family had turned their backs on her and that she had no place to go, but she knew that God would make a way for her. I said to myself, 'He just did

' Her faith and her praise moved me. I took her to a nearby hotel and put her up until she was able to get on her feet I had someone that worked for me to check on her from time to time and to make sure that she had food and clothes. After about a month or so we lost touch, but I never forgot her.

This past summer I was shooting 'Daddy's Little Girls' and this woman walks up to me smiling. I didn't recognize her face, but her eyes were familiar. She had on a really nice dress and her hair was done. It was her! She told me that the little help that I had given her had changed her life.

She was in a house now and doing very well. I said all of that to say this. After I met this woman, every time I think about complaining and mumbling I remember, 'My feet are off the ground!'

I wanted to share this with you just to let you know that when I say that I am thankful for you, I mean it. And when I say that you are a blessing to me, I mean it.

We take so much for granted sometimes that I just wanted all of you to know that I am grateful to God for you every day. Thank you for being in my life.

Top Five Regrets of the Dying

For many years I worked in palliative care. My patients were those who had gone home to die. Some incredibly special times were shared. I was with them for the last three to twelve weeks of their lives.

People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality. I learnt never to underestimate someone's capacity for growth. Some changes were phenomenal. Each experienced a variety of emotions, as expected, denial, fear, anger, remorse, more denial and eventually acceptance. Every single patient found their peace before they departed though, every one of them.

When questioned about any regrets they had or anything they would do differently, common themes surfaced again and again. Here are the most common five:

1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

This was the most common regret of all. When people realise that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people had not honoured even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made.

It is very important to try and honour at least some of your dreams along the way. From the moment that you lose your health, it is too late. Health brings a freedom very few realise, until they no longer have it.

2. I wish I didn't work so hard.

This came from every male patient that I nursed. They missed their children's youth and their partner's companionship. Women also spoke of this regret. But as most were from an older generation, many of the female patients had not been breadwinners. All of the men I nursed deeply regretted spending so much of their lives on the treadmill of a work existence.

By simplifying your lifestyle and making conscious choices along the way, it is possible to not need the income that you think you do. And by creating more space in your life, you become happier and more open to new opportunities, ones more suited to your new lifestyle.

3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.

Many people suppressed their feelings in order to keep peace with others. As a result, they settled for a mediocre existence and never became who they were truly capable of becoming. Many developed illnesses relating to the bitterness and resentment they carried as a result.

We cannot control the reactions of others. However, although people may initially react when you change the way you are by speaking honestly, in the end it raises the relationship to a whole new and healthier level. Either that or it releases the unhealthy relationship from your life. Either way, you win.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

Often they would not truly realise the full benefits of old friends until their dying weeks and it was not always possible to track them down. Many had become so caught up in their own lives that they had let golden friendships slip by over the years. There were many deep regrets about not giving friendships the time and effort that they deserved. Everyone misses their friends when they are dying.

It is common for anyone in a busy lifestyle to let friendships slip. But when you are faced with your approaching death, the physical details of life fall away. People do want to get their financial affairs in order if possible. But it is not money or status that holds the true importance for them. They want to get things in order more for the benefit of those they love. Usually though, they are too ill and weary to ever manage this task. It is all comes down to love and relationships in the end. That is all that remains in the final weeks, love and relationships.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

This is a surprisingly common one. Many did not realise until the end that happiness is a choice. They had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called 'comfort' of familiarity overflowed into their emotions, as well as their physical lives. Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to their selves, that they were content. When deep within, they longed to laugh properly and have silliness in their life again.

When you are on your deathbed, what others think of you is a long way from your mind. How wonderful to be able to let go and smile again, long before you are dying.

Life is a choice. It is YOUR life. Choose consciously, choose wisely, choose honestly. Choose happiness.

A beautiful and touching story

Every Sunday afternoon, after the morning service at the church, the Pastor and his eleven year old son would go out into their town and hand out Gospel Tracts.

This particular Sunday afternoon, as it came time for the Pastor and his son to go to the streets with their tracts, it was very cold outside, as well as pouring rain.

The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest clothes and said, 'OK, dad, I'm ready.'

is Pastor dad asked, 'Ready for what?'

'Dad, it's time we gather our tracts together and go out.'

Dad responds, 'Son, it's very cold outside and it's pouring rain.'

The boy gives his dad a surprised look, asking, 'But Dad, aren't people still going to Hell, even though it's raining?'

Dad answers, 'Son, I am not going out in this weather.'

Despondently, the boy asks, 'Dad, can I go? Please?'

His father hesitated for a moment then said, 'Son, you can go. Here are the tracts, be careful son.'

'Thanks Dad!'

And with that, he was off and out into the rain. This eleven year old boy walked the streets of the town going door to door and handing everybody he met in the street a Gospel Tract .

After two hours of walking in the rain, he was soaking, bone-chilled wet and down to his VERY LAST TRACT. He stopped on a corner and looked for someone to hand a tract to, but the streets were totally deserted.

Then he turned toward the first home he saw and started up the sidewalk to the front door and rang the door bell. He rang the bell, but nobody answered.

He rang it again and again, but still no one answered. He waited but still no answer.

Finally, this eleven year old trooper turned to leave, but something stopped him.

Again, he turned to the door and rang the bell and knocked loudly on the door with his fist. He waited, something holding him there on the front porch!

He rang again and this time the door slowly opened.

Standing in the doorway was a very sad-looking elderly lady. She softly asked, 'What can I do for you, son?' With radiant eyes and a smile that lit up her world, this little boy said, 'Ma'am, I'm sorry if I disturbed you, but I just want to tell you that * JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU * and I came to give you my very last Gospel Tract which will tell you all about JESUS and His great LOVE..'

With that, he handed her his last tract and turned to leave.

She called to him as he departed. 'Thank you, son! And God Bless You!'

Well, the 2nd of the following Sunday morning in church Pastor Dad was in the pulpit. As the service began, he asked, 'Does anybody have testimony or want to say anything?'

Slowly, in the back row of the church, an elderly lady stood to her feet.

As she began to speak, a look of glorious radiance came from her face, 'No one in this church knows me. I've never been here before. You see, before last Sunday I was not a Christian. My husband passed on some time ago, leaving me totally alone in this world. Last Sunday, being a particularly cold and rainy day, it was even more so in my heart that I came to the end of the line where I no longer had any hope or will to live.

So I took a rope and a chair and ascended the stairway into the attic of my home. I fastened the rope securely to a rafter in the roof, then stood on the chair and fastened the other end of the rope around my neck. Standing on that chair, so lonely and broken-hearted I was about to leap off, when suddenly the loud ringing of my doorbell downstairs startled me. I thought, 'I'll wait a minute, and whoever it is will go away.'

I waited and waited, but the ringing doorbell seemed to get louder and more insistent, and then the person ringing also started knocking loudly...

I thought to myself again, 'Who on earth could this be? Nobody ever rings my bell or comes to see me.' I loosened the rope from my neck and started for the front door, all the while the bell rang louder and louder.

When I opened the door and looked I could hardly believe my eyes, for there on my front porch was the most radiant and angelic little boy I had ever seen in my life. His SMILE, oh, I could never describe it to you!

The words that came from his mouth caused my heart that had long been dead, TO LEAP TO LIFE as he exclaimed with a cherub-like voice, 'Ma'am, I just came to tell you that JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU .' Then he gave me this Gospel Tract that I now hold in my hand.

As the little angel disappeared back out into the cold and rain, I closed my door and read slowly every word of this Gospel Tract. Then I went up to my attic to get my rope and chair. I wouldn't be needing them any more.

You see-- -I am now a Happy Child of the KING. Since the address of your church was on the back of this Gospel Tract, I have come here to personally say THANK YOU to God's little angel who came just in the nick of time and by so doing, spared my soul from an eternity in hell.'

There was not a dry eye in the church. And as shouts of praise and honour to THE KING resounded off the very rafters of the building, Pastor Dad descended from the pulpit to the front pew where the little angel was seated...

He took his son in his arms and sobbed uncontrollably.

Probably no church has had a more glorious moment, and probably this universe has never seen a Papa that was more filled with love & honour for his son... Except for One.

Scam Watch: June update - the fraudsters you should be aware of

MINISTRY OF PENSIONS SCAM

"One of our employees was called up last week from a man claiming to be from the Ministry of Pensions. The number was from a mobile phone and although it sounded suspicious, the caller knew her name and address and told her she was due a backdated pension payout of £5,000. To get the money released she would have to pay £200 and at this stage she wisely hung up the phone."

DHL SCAM

"A company pretending to be DHL emailed me to say it had attempted to deliver a parcel to my address but was unable to, and if I wanted to rearrange the delivery I needed to download a reference number.

"Attached to the email was a PDF, which I stupidly thought would be safe to download. As soon as I did every file on my computer became blocked and I had to take the laptop into a local centre to get it fixed."

SANTANDER SCAM

"An email arrived in my personal inbox this week supposedly from Santander. It said someone had tried to send me money but as the transaction looked suspicious it was declined and my account is now restricted.

"Therefore I was asked to confirm some personal details to be able to access my account again. Although it looked quite genuine there were also a lot of spelling mistakes in the text, which hinted it might be a scam."

"I have been in contact with a man who is stuck in Ghana after finishing work on an oil rig there for the Ghanaian government. He says he hasn't been paid yet and needs money for a ticket back to the UK and claims he is a structural engineer living in Manchester. The money needs to be transferred online but I believe it's a scam so I have instead alerted the British Commission in Ghana."

"Ever since the end of last year, I've been in touch with a woman I met through an online dating website. Apparently she lives in Australia but is currently on a trip in London.

She emailed me yesterday to say that while over here she's been mugged and now no longer has her debit or credit cards or any cash. Therefore she's asked for me to transfer money to her for a flight back home. Instead, I'm alerting ScamWatch as I believe this is a con."

"Although my phone account is with BT I was a little suspicious when I received an email from the company recently. It was titled "action required" and said my last payment wasn’t processed properly. This was either because my personal details had been changed or there was an error when I had paid the bill. "I have been trying to get a loan so I can take my wife on holiday and we had a phone call recently from a firm offering this. It seemed completely genuine and we weren’t asked for personal or financial details. We were told we should buy a voucher for £50 and then we would have the loan deposited into our account. However, we were never called back and there seems to be no way to get our £50 back. If they can do this to one person I wonder how many more times have they done it."

"Today I received a letter from a so-called private investigator in China to say someone with my surname had died and he was the lawyer representing the case. Funnily enough I have taken this no further."

PARCEL DELIVERY SCAM

"I arrived home from work today to find a card behind my door telling me a parcel had been left under my patio table. I had not ordered anything from this catalogue company and rang it up asking why these items of jewellery had been sent. I was put through to the fraud department and the member of staff asked if I was a company director to which I replied that I was. Apparently the latest scam is for con artists to use your name and address (which they can find on a company website) and then change the address for delivery once the account has been accepted. Thankfully I acted straight away and a fraud marker was put on my file and I was advised to check my credit record."

"Last week an email arrived in my inbox from a friend and immediately alarm bells began ringing. For a start the language was strange and it went on to say she was on holiday in London and had been mugged and had everything stolen apart from passports. It then went on to ask for help settling the hotel bill and getting a flight. There were lots of things in it that didn’t match up so I contacted my friend and she confirmed it was a scam."

THE HALIFAX SCAM

"Halifax, or at least I thought it was the bank, contacted me to say it had detected irregular activity in my Halifax online banking login. As I was the primary contact the email asked me to verify my account as a hold had been placed on my debit card so I couldn’t access my cash. There was an attachment with the email, which I had to download to verify the account. Alarm bells rang and so instead I checked my online banking in a new window and found no problems."

"I’ve been emailed as apparently my email address was the star pick from an automated ballot system which means I’m entitled to receive the grand reward of 2.5 million dollars. In order to claim this prize the email says I must send personal details out immediately."

"A scam email arrived in my account supposedly from Yahoo. It said I needed to update my personal details after a series of illegal attempts on my email account from different IP addresses. THE NPOWER SCAM

"Quite unexpectedly we received a phone call one evening at 8 o'clock and my wife answered. She said npower, our electricity provider, was on the phone and wanted a meter reading there and then. We had just started to watch a favourite TV programme so I said I would send one online the next day. The caller was persistent but settled eventually and said they would call again – which didn't happen. I phoned npower the next day and was told everything was fully up to date and no reading was required. It's difficult to imagine what would have followed had we complied and gone to the meter and provided a reading. Doubtless the company would have tried to obtain some sensitive personal information on some pretext or other."

THE ILLNESS SCAM

"This message arrive in my inbox from a friend in my address book. The subject of the email was 'Dearest Beloved'. The message said: 'As you read this, I don't want you to feel sorry for me because I believe everyone will die someday. THE SKY SCAM

"I was checking through our bank statement online and discovered a transaction marked 'Sky Subscription' which is strange as we have not been with Sky for over six years.

We rang Sky to ask why and it told us all of its payments are labelled 'Sky Digital'. We rang the bank and stopped the debit card this transaction had been used on. The scam appears to work by taking random amounts from your bank account. We have spoken to others and found this is a growing problem with one friend being debited as much as £200. The message here is – always check your bank statements."

"I sold a mobile phone on eBay and a bidder offered me double the price I had hoped for. I accepted this and he sent the authorisation code for the payment but no money arrived in my account.

I contacted PayPal who told me this was a scam as the authorisation code was an old one. The bidder looked genuine and had good feedback and I contacted him again. He sent another code but still no money arrived so in the end I sold it to someone else."

PUPPY SCAM

"I tried to buy a Chihuahua puppy on the free advert side Oodle for £150 plus delivery from Dundee to Edinburgh. I emailed the seller and asked a lot of questions about the puppy and delivery and he assured me that everything would be straightforward.

I was sent the details of the delivery agency and I paid the seller through MoneyGram. Next my husband spoke on the phone with the agency and suddenly it wanted another £600 to cover insurance and to deliver my puppy by plane. We didn’t want to do this so but the seller would not listen and he even said if we pulled out of the deal the dog would be put in quarantine and we would be in trouble with the police.

This was not the first advert I applied to and it seemed genuine. Looking back I shouldn’t have wired the £150 but I was so desperate for this puppy I went ahead with it."

SAD NEWS SCAM

"An old friend who now lives in America emailed me last month asking to borrow £2,000 as he was on holiday in Wales and had been mugged. The email was very convincing and said his cash, cards and mobile phones had been stolen but he still had his passport and flight tickets.

It said he had gone to the American embassy and police but had not had much luck and needed to settle hotel bills before getting a flight back to America the next day. I would have sent the money to him but the use of the headline ‘Sad News’ suggested a death in the family, which this was not, and made me feel uneasy.

I hadn't contacted him for years, but I found the number and rang his home in North Carolina. It turns out his emails had been hacked and similar messages had been sent out to everyone in his address book."

COMPUTER HEALTH CHECK SCAM

"I was contacted by a man who told me my computer was not running at the right speed and offered me a free security health check. The caller asked me to switch on my pc and log onto a website. At this point the computer would be accessed remotely and cleared of any bugs.

When I asked the name of the company I was told it was part of Microsoft and the caller said this would be totally free. As a PC engineer I didn’t go any further as alarm bells began ringing and I believed the company’s intention was to get passwords and data off my PC."

VITAMAIL SCAM

"My poor elderly mother was sent a letter from a company called Vitamail telling her she was in debit of her account by £5. She did not have an account with this company and the letter looked very convincing.

"However, I noticed the letter had her name but no initials, the company asked her to send cash, it was not signed and also threatened to send someone round to her house if she didn’t send her bank details.

"I searched for the company on the internet and found there were many people who had received the same letter who had never heard of this company let alone had an account with them. This company trades under many names and many addresses but is based in France."

"I received an email telling me I had won a £1,000,000 lottery prize from the BBC. I contacted a few names on their email messages and questioned the matter to see if it was for real. AUTOTRADER SCAM

"I placed an advert through Autotrader on my partner's behalf and naively I put my personal email address on the advert. Within 24 hours I had emails from two different people expressing interest. Both said they would buy the car without viewing it, pay via PayPal and send an agent to collect vehicle.

My partner expressed immediate concern and a quick search on the internet confirmed a well-known scam whereby someone accepts an offer and their car is collected but the money is withdrawn from PayPal before the transaction is complete."

THE AVIS SCAM

"A company in Seattle rang me around six times trying to persuade me that I had 10 times as many shares in Avis Europe than I actually have. It also said it had a buyer for these shares at 10 times their value. In order to move forward I would have to sign a confidentiality agreement and send it some money. This is clearly proof that if it sounds too good to be true it probably is."

"Recently I received a message from PayPal about a transaction but I have never had an account with the company. When I queried it I was informed it was a type of phishing scam. MILLIONAIRE FUND SCAM

"Today I received an email from someone supposedly representing Arab millionaires who have had their funds frozen after the 9/11 attack. The email says these millionaires have been investigated by the FBI and found to be clean but now the funds, for some reason, can't be returned to their rightful owners. It then says these funds are available to be claimed by first sending over card details. This is clearly a scam."

WEIGHT TRAINING SCAM

"Having decided to up my weight training I searched the internet for items to help me out. I found a suitable website and then sent off several emails regarding price and asking how long an order would take. A man contacted me and was very efficient so I had no reason to suspect anything. He requested I deposit the payment of £50 into his bank account and sent me the sort code and account number. I was informed my order would take around a week to arrive but after this period had passed I emailed him to ask about my order. I had no further replies from him after this and have lost out on this money."

The HMRC SCAM

"A member of staff has just alerted me to the fact that they have recently received a scam email which purports to be from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and appears to be advising them that they are due a tax refund. It offers a link for them to follow where it is likely that they would be asked to confirm their bank details. This is a scam."

MINISTRY OF JUSTICE SCAM

"I received a phone call from a lady claming to be from the Ministry of Justice last week. She had a strange accent and although she gave me a number to call back on, this was different to the number she had called me on. I bank with Santander and the lady calling enquired about a payment to my bank account. I've now received another call from the same company and have tried reporting them to Consumer Watch and the Ombudsman but as no fraud as yet been committed neither will help me."

"With the holiday season upon us, people need to watch out for scam websites charging a £10 renewal fee for the EHIC card. Renewal through the NHS website is free, so beware of the top picks on a google search for 'EHIC renewal'."

CAMPHIRENOW SCAM

"I was contacted by a company called 'Camphire Now' [supposedly a recruitment firm] and a lady by the name of Julia Marks sent me an e-mail asking me to enter a code and fill out an application pending an interview in London in a few days.

"When I got to the IQ Test section of the website I discovered in order to carry on I would be charged £4.50 per month thereafter. I have e-mailed Julia twice now asking for information on the company as I cannot find it anywhere on the website. The links on the website provide no information at all. It's a scam. I have reported it to the OFT and trust you will warn others."

There are times when I don't know whether to laugh or cry. And there are times when I feel like a parody of a bit part player in an old EastEnders episode – going into the Queen Vic, shouting: “Oh, my gawd. I don't believe it. Pull the other one. It can't be for real.”

But, straight up, it was for real. And it arrived earlier this week. It came in a white window envelope, with a first class 46p stamp, addressed very formally through the window to me as Anthony Levene.

Who writes to me as Anthony other than the taxman and my bank? Even solicitors complaining that I have traduced their scammy clients call me Tony.

What was this missive? Readers may not credit this but the envelope contained the classic “Nigerian 419” letter.

What goes around, comes around

Earlier this month, I was discussing scams with a police friend of mine. I told him that there were a number of rackets that I had not seen for quite a while. Among those was the Nigerian letter and the email which tells you that you have won a fantastic number of millions in a lottery which you have never entered, let alone even heard of.

Maybe he was wiser than me when he advised me “never, say never. What goes around, comes around”. And so it did.

The heading of the letter itself started with number of Chinese characters, followed by a Hong Kong fax number and an email address. The signatory – a Mr McKay Xu – told me that he is a private investment manager involved with the estate of a William Levene.

William, Xu writes, died (on an unspecified date but apparently between 2002 and 2008) in a hiking accident in mainland China (that's a big place but there are no further details).

In 1997, before his death, William went to Xu to ask him to act as an investment manager for his $17.5 million. This money was transferred in cash in 2002 to mainland China for an urgent business venture. But poor William went hiking and died, without leaving a will.

So as I share the same surname, Xu concludes that I must be the nearest to a next of kin. The letter has some spelling mistakes but the basic message is that Xu will share the money with me equally if I help him deal with a “specialist bank”. Xu is peeved William is dead as “he still owes me my percentage for service and naturally I deserve to have that money but cannot do it alone. So I need your help”.

There are at least four William Levenes in the UK and two companies with that or similar names. But if my surname had been Jones, then the letter would have cited a William Jones.

Funny

Why do I find all this rather funny? Firstly the mock serious English: “It would be legally confirmed as I am working with my local solicitor on this deal to make sure all legal aspects are covered.” Then there is the threat that if I don't go along with this, “the funds will revert back to the state where is may be shared by state officials for their personal use and enrichment”. Imagine, officials scamming the estate of poor William.

I can't believe that anyone still falls for this scam – named after the section in the Nigerian criminal code which outlaws the practice – although it is possible. But it is also hilarious that some poor guy has spent money on printing and posting all these letters. He must have paid out for loads of envelopes, paper and countless 46p stamps.

I wonder who is behind all this. It is obviously a false name – no one is going to use real details. It may well not be someone in Hong Kong at all. But whoever it is has got to be pretty stupid. Does anyone think I am going to hand over 50%. No way! I want at least 90%!!!

So I shall email Xu to tell him that I shall talk to him but only on the condition that I take the bigger cut. He'll probably agree – after all there is no money and he just wants me to keep paying $10,000 here and $20,000 there until I go broke. But I also intend to ask him to send $10,000 in cash to prove he is who he says. He won't like that!

How to get your money back after a scam

If you have been scammed, you haven't received goods you ordered, or a product isn't as it was described to you, you could easily get your money back.

The police and Financial Services Authority admit that they're usually powerless to get your money back after you've been scammed. However, there's a way to do so yourself in many cases, and with relative ease.

If you make any purchases of between £100 and £30,000 and pay for it, or even just part of it, using your credit card, your card provider should pay you back for the entire loss in the event of scam.

It isn't just obliged to do this for scams either. Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act ensures that the card provider must reimburse you if a retailer doesn't deliver the goods or service, or if the product is not as described.

How customers are getting their money back

Credit card companies don't always agree when a customer makes a section 75 request to be reimbursed. Often, customers then complain to the free Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). It's these borderline cases that give us the most insight into when and where this legal right can be used.

The Ombudsman has just published some recent examples of its decisions relating to section 75. Here are some of the customers who succeeded in getting their money back.

Broken promises

Mrs S paid £3,500 for a holiday club on her credit card on the assurance that she would get the whole membership fee back after five years. On receiving the paperwork, however, she realised she'd been tricked.

She complained to the FOS when her lender didn't believe her “recollection of events”. The FOS found public accounts of others taking legal action against the holiday club, so it considered there to be enough evidence and justification for the card provider to reimburse Mrs S, and ordered it to do so.

Ill-fitting suits

Mr C paid £800 for a tailor-made suit on his credit card. When the finished suit was delivered to him, it didn't fit properly. He asked the tailors to make alterations, but they didn't show up for the appointment and Mr C had no luck when he complained further.

The lender refused to reimburse Mr C, but the FOS saw evidence from both sides, including photos of Mr C wearing the badly fitting suit. It decided that Mr C had done everything he could to get the tailors to correct their mistakes, and so it ordered the lender to reimburse him.

Paying a deposit below the £100 limit

Miss N paid a £99 deposit on her credit card for a £1,000 sofa but, before delivery, the retailer went out of business. Her lender refused to compensate her under section 75, saying she had spent less than £100, so she complained to the FOS.

Although Miss N had only lost £99, the purchase price was £1,000, which means she is covered by section 75. The FOS ordered the card provider to reimburse Miss N.

Make sure you understand section 75

Not everyone is successful when they claim under section 75, even if they take a complaint to the FOS. Indeed, Phillipa Cook, spokeswoman for the Ombudsman, told me that probably a little under half of the section 75 complaints the Ombudsman hears are successful.

We can learn from other customers' mistakes.

Paying a deposit below the £30,000 limit

Mrs T used her credit card to pay a deposit of £3,000 to a building company for an overseas property that was going to cost £162,000. The property was never completed and the building company didn't return her calls. Her lender refused to reimburse her and she complained to the FOS.

Unfortunately, it's not the size of the deposit that counts for section 75, but the value of the entire purchase. Since that was over the £30,000 limit, the FOS rejected Mrs T's complaint.

Changing your mind

Mr W joined a holiday club, but later changed his mind when he realised he could pay less by shopping around for holidays by himself. He asked his card provider to reimburse him. When it refused, he complained to the FOS.

The FOS decided that the holiday club had not given false or misleading information to Mr W, nor had it breached the contract. Finding that there are better deals elsewhere is not grounds for section 75, so it rejected Mr W's complaint.
