True colour of exoplanet found

True colour of exoplanet found
Press Association – Thu, Jul 11, 2013

A dazzling blue planet 63 light years away bears a striking resemblance to Earth, scientists have learned - but appearances can be deceptive.

Like the Earth, the alien world known as HD 189733b would be a brilliant cobalt blue if seen from a short distance away in space.

Unlike Earth, however, the planet has no blue oceans and the chances of any form of life surviving on its surface are remote.

Conditions on HD 189733b are hellish. Temperatures are a scorching 1000C, winds howl at more than 4,000 mph, and it rains slivers of silicate glass.

The planet is a gas giant orbiting very close to its parent star. Scientists were able to calculate its colour by measuring the light reflected from its surface.

It is the first time astronomers have determined the true colour of an exoplanet orbiting a star beyond the sun.

"This planet has been studied well in the past, both by ourselves and other teams," said Professor Frederic Pont, from the University of Exeter, who led the international Hubble Space Telescope team. "But measuring its colour is a real first - we can actually imagine what this planet would look like if we were able to look at it directly."

To isolate the planet's light, the astronomers conducted observations before, during and after the orbiting planet passed behind its parent star.

As it slipped behind the star, light reflected from the planet was temporarily blocked out. The total amount of light coming from the star system fell slightly as a result. Identifying the wavelengths of the missing light revealed the planet's likely colour.

The findings appear in the August 1 issue of the journal Astrophysical Journal Letters.

Most common fraud scams to watch out for

Most common fraud scams to watch out for
By Sophie Christie | Telegraph – 21 hours ago

Almost three quarters of Britons have experienced some type of fraud attempt, according to First Direct. Here are the top five most common scams to watch out for.

The survey conducted by First Direct also found that 55pc of those who had experienced fraud had been targeted online, yet this hadn't appeared to affect consumers as 80pc said they would still purchase online, with 70pc still banking online.

Over 55s were contacted by fraudsters most, while four in 10 of those aged 16 to 24 said they had never experienced a scam attempt.

Most common types of fraud
1. Fake emails: 53pc of frauds were conducted via fake emails claiming to be from a bank requesting personal information, like Pin numbers and account login details.
2. Advance-fee frauds: Advance-fee frauds make up 29pc of the most regular scams committed. Scammers send emails and letters to victims asking for a certain amount of money in order to secure a larger sum.
The Nigerian 419 scam is a common example of this the "419" refers to the Nigerian Criminal Code that deals with fraud.
3. Impostor phone calls: Impostor phone calls ( 23pc of the most common types of fraud) claiming to be from well-known organisations, such as broadband providers or software firms. An incident of this was reported recently when an elderly gentleman was conned out of £121 after being targeted by scammers posing as Microsoft.
4. Debit card fraud: Debit card fraud duplicating one or more of your bank cards, makes up 14pc of the most regularly seen types of fraud.
5. Fake lotteries: Fake lotteries also account for 14pc of the most common types of fraud. Victims receive emails notifying them of a large sum of money won in a lottery. Recipients of the scam are often told to contact a 'claims agent' to whom they will pay 'processing fees' or 'transfer charges' in order for the winnings to be paid.

What to do if you have become a victim of fraud

• Change the passwords to your computer, email and any financial accounts, especially bank and credit cards.

• Scan your computer to see if rogue software has been installed.

• Contact your bank and credit card companies if you think your details may be at risk. Ask them to freeze the account and issue a new card.

• If you have lost money to card fraud contact Action Fraud and get a crime reference number. This will help pursue a claim with your bank for lost funds. See actionfraud.police.uk or call 0300 123 2040.

Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

The Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy can never be created or destroyed only changed from one form to another.

All matter and energy are regarded as equivalent. Therefore all matter cannot be destroyed only transitioned to another form.

All energy is in constant motion, therefore constantly changing. Change is the law of nature. This law of change was wonderfully described by William W. Atkinson in 1911 in the “The Mastery of Being” .He wrote:

“All nature and all the universe is in a constant state of flux. Everything changing its shape, form or activities from the moment of its creation. Everything is in constant motion from the atoms to suns, from universe to electrons. Nothing remains the same for two consecutive moments . . . nothing stands still.”

This endless eternal transformation of energy is happening all around and within you. Mentally and physically you are constantly changing. You are, in fact, a creative process.

This constant change provides endless potential for beneficial change. Each and every moment is an infinite possibility that you may evolve into the finite realities of your desires.

This creative process of change is ordered by our intention. Intention brings change. Imagination brings change. Thoughts become actions.

Reiki is a good example of the many intentional healing modalities. The effectiveness of Reiki and other similar practices depend upon the intention of the practitioner.

Maintain a focus and intention of wellness, of wholeness, of healing, and change occurs.

Researcher Krinsley D. Bengston witnesses multiple cases of cancer remission associated with a hands-on energy healer. Bengston then apprenticed with the healer to learn how to reproduce the healing effects.

Bengston obtained 5 experimental mice with mammary adenocar-cinoma, which had a predicted 100% fatality between 14 and 27 days following injection. Bengston treated these mice for an hour a day for a period of 30 days. The tumors developed a “blackened area,” then ulcerated, imploded and closed, and the mice lived their normal lifespan. The control group of mice with breast cancer, sent to another city, all died within the predicted time frame.

The results were so remarkable; three replications of the experiment were done in different cities. The studies were done with skeptical volunteers trained to do hands-on energy healing. In these three studies, 87.9% of the energy-treated mice lived, and 100% of the control group mice died. In addition, the mice in remission from two of the four experiments were re-injected with cancer, and it did not take, suggesting a continuing, stimulated immunological response. Histological studies confirmed the viability of cancer cells through all stages of remission.

The studies were published in The Effect of the “Laying On of Hands” in Transplanted Breast Cancer in Mice,  by Krinsley D. Bengston, Journal of Science Exploration, 2000; 14:353-364.

Bengston wrote “The tentative conclusions are that belief in laying-on of hands is not necessary to produce the effect; there is a stimulated immune response to treatment, which is reproducible and predictable; and the mice retain immunity to the same cancer after remission.”

Reiki; a natural healing modality

Reiki is a wonderful natural healing modality that is very beneficial to one’s self healing program as well as for helping others.

Often referred to as energy healing, Reiki is more correctly defined as an intentional healing modality. It is the focus and intention on the part of the healer that makes Reiki so effective.

Healing Today has been offering Reiki classes since 1999. Our home healing center is in the Tampa Bay area but we offer classes in cities all over the United States.

The training is in traditional Usui Reiki.

A wonderful community of people has attended Healing Today Reiki classes and we are happy that so many of our students are now actively teaching.

Reiki in Hospitals

Over the past two decades, Reiki has gained much wider acceptance in the medical establishment. Hospitals are realizing the effectiveness of the treatments and also the increased patient satisfaction. Many hospitals now include Reiki in their patient services, provided by their own physicians, nurses, therapists, and other staff.

A research study at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut showed increased overall patient satisfaction with the treatments. The findings indicated that Reiki improved patient sleep by 86 percent, reduced pain by 78 percent, reduced nausea by 80 percent, and reduced anxiety during pregnancy by 94 percent.

In the same study 75% of the patients who participated said that they would “definitely want service again”.

According to an article in the USA Today, (published September, 2008), several hundred hospitals now offer Reiki as a regular part of patient services.

Below are a few of the hospitals offering Reiki. For a larger list and more documentation please visit; http://healingtoday.com/reiki_facts.htm

A Message From Richard Preser.....

10900583476?profile=original

Dear Dr.,

The following is the content of a soon-to-be-released “Jeshua, Then and Now” Newsletter:

How does the body heal?

Da Vinci Man

There are many mechanisms at work in the human physical body to bring forth healing. There is no one simple process; rather, it depends a great deal upon the nature of the injury as to how the healing process proceeds.

Heart-centered energy image

Firstly, it is useful to look at the elements that, you might say, create the context for healing. The first of these is what you might consider a template for the human physical body - or perhaps a blueprint may be more accurate - and this is used as a reference point for that individual’s physical expression.

Neurons

Secondly, it is important to acknowledge the role of the neurons, which are present primarily in the brain, and their role in commanding the cells to undertake particular processes that support, for example, the process of healing.

Hologram

The third element is the hologram of an individual's physical expression, which exists in a different dimension from the one in which you exist, and this hologram is in many ways what is expressed in your human physical form; and, you might say, there is a close connection between the blueprint and the hologram because, in their own ways, they are different expressions of much the same thing.

Woman meditating

The blueprint carries the ideal form of the human physical body, to which has been added the unique elements that apply to that individual, whereas the hologram is quite specific to the individual and, in a sense, in its own way comes forth in response to that, you might say, modified blueprint.

Kundalini

And the final piece of context I would give you is the Kundalini energy. As some of you reading this will know, the Kundalini energy can and to some extent always does play a role in the healing process; and the more that you engage with the consciousness of the Kundalini energies and indeed see them be expressed within the physical body, travelling up that spiral channel along the spine and out through the crown chakra; if these energies are activated in the way I have described, and if intention is used, you might say, in relation to the activity of the consciousness of that Kundalini, then it will play a much more active and powerful role in the healing process.

DNA string

As I examine this subject of healing, it also leads us into the process of ageing as it is currently expressed in the human physical form, and as many of you will be aware, the key reason for this ageing process is the decay of the telomere, which represents part of the chromosome; and with each cell division, you might say, a small piece of the telomere is broken off and so, cells could only replicate themselves a certain number of times before that process stops and some of those cells begin to die off. And so this is the major driving force in what is called ageing.

Map of emotions

There is also the influence of emotion, particularly those emotions and energies that arise from past lifetimes that have not been cleared. These are significant contributors to how the physical body ages and indeed expresses illness and disease.

Telomere

So, there are many factors at work here that, in a sense, create a context within which healing comes forth. When an individual is young and the telomere is healthy, the healing process is usually far more rapid and indeed far more comprehensive. If there is a significant injury to, say, a limb, that injury might be quite complex. There could be damage to bones, to ligaments, to muscle and to the skin, and all of these in their own way need to be healed; and when the body is young, these processes are much more readily activated.

Woman meditating in energy

The process of healing, as you can see, involves many variables and, you might say, the interplay of these variables needs to be managed on some level, and really this is managed between the neurons and the consciousness of the Kundalini. In particular, the neurons play this role because the focus of the Kundalini energy, primarily, is simply to see the physical body healed in any sense, including the repair of the telomere. It has no real, you might say, inherent support for that decay of the telomere. In a sense, the Kundalini energy is unchanged from before “The Fall” in Atlantis, and so its focus continues to be seeking to return the physical form to that perfected state that existed prior to “The Fall” in Atlantis; and so, you could perhaps consider that the consciousness of the Kundalini has been a little frustrated for the last 13,000 years or so, as returning to that state has not been a practical proposition.

So, you might say, the selector, the organiser of individual processes and the order in which they are executed is primarily managed by the neurons. Now you would recognise that the healing process involves, in some cases, repair to cells; in other cases it involves the change of some cells into a form that provides protection to a wound, for example, whilst the healing process proceeds, and then the discarding of those cells; and also, in some cases, the bringing forth of new cells to undertake specific functions within the body.

Femur fractures

So it is a complex process that is organised primarily, as I said, by this, you might say, conversation between the neurons and the consciousness of the Kundalini, and also the interaction with the cells and the organs, and the consciousness of those various elements of the body because, for example, let us take a bone in the leg - the femur - there is a template for that femur, you might say, or again, perhaps, more accurately a blueprint, and also there is a consciousness of that femur that wishes to see that bone returned to perfection. And so it, too, is interacting with the process to see perfection brought forth. It is interacting with the cells that make up that particular bone to see them, you might say, rationalised and reconnected in the way that they were previously, so that the bone is healed.

Indeed, as you may know, when bone is healed in this manner, actually the bone is reinforced more strongly than it was originally to, to an extent, compensate for the fact that damage has occurred in that area, so the bone as a result of the injury is very often stronger than it was before it was broken.

And I will mention that this knowledge is used by those who wish to create what are known as Super Soldiers, by triggering microscopic fractures throughout the bone structure of the body, and as a result, building a far stronger skeletal structure upon which to hang all of that function. But I do not wish to get further down that path than to simply mention its existence.

So, there is this cooperation, there is this mediation, there are these influences driving towards perfection, and you have, intermingled with this, the ageing process, influenced by the number of cell divisions and also influenced by the emotions and negative karmic energies from past lives - all of these things intermingling, you might say, and influencing in their own ways the process of healing of the body.

On a level, watching how the body heals, it truly is miraculous in the sense that, if you cut yourself, you do not even think twice about whether the body will heal that cut; rather your focus is on ensuring that there is no significant infestation of bacteria or other things that might prevent or delay that healing process. The question is not on your mind about whether it will heal, and this is perhaps a good opportunity to introduce the influence of the mind, because there are many ways in which the mind can impact the healing process.

For those who are truly great Masters, they have the ability to simply call forth the, you might say, almost immediate healing of the physical form. Indeed, there are stories told of great yogis in India who might, for example, have had an arm severed, who simply within a day put that arm back in place with no medical intervention. This is an extreme example of the power of the mind to be used in the process of healing, but there are lesser illustrations of that same process. One is to intend that, for example, a wound will heal quickly.

Something which is also very accessible is, for example, when you have cut yourself and it begins to bleed. You can just intend that that bleeding stop; and if you believe in this, it will stop immediately. There have been many examples of this kind of event occurring, particularly, for example, when a parent is speaking with a child who accepts what that parent says very freely, and that parent has some understanding and just tells the child to simply stop the bleeding, and it will stop. As you get a little older, you begin to doubt these abilities because of the consciousness you have been living in, and so it is little more challenging for most adults to do this, unless they have, for example, been students of the kind of the yoga mastery that I spoke of earlier.

So, it is certainly within the reach of the individual where they have some kind of injury or illness, or even an organ which is misbehaving in some manner, to connect with the consciousness of that organ and communicate with it and understand what its issue is, and once you understand this and why it is malfunctioning, to work with it to see it be healed, in a manner that most people do not accept as possible.

Energy dance

Again, this is interplaying with all of the other threads that I have mentioned; so you can see it is like a dance, this beautiful interaction which, for the most part will happen automatically, but which any individual can influence in a number of ways; for example, by activating their Kundalini and communicating with the consciousness of that Kundalini, by communicating with the consciousness of particular organs or a bone or even the leg if there is a major injury there and, indeed, to intend that the bleeding of a wound simply stop. All of these things are very powerful.

Indeed, you can use intention to clear the body of toxins; simply intending that the body go through a process - and this takes several days - of clearing itself of all toxins. You might wonder why this is not automatically done, but really it is up to the individual to take responsibility for the functioning of the human physical body in circumstances which are outside of what you might consider the normal day-to-day functioning; and so, these toxins can be cleared in this manner. This is but an example of what is possible.

This is, perhaps, as far as I wish to go, other than to mention that, as the rejuvenation process unfolds in the near future, you will see the complete reactivation of the telomere - much to the joy of the consciousness of the Kundalini - and also the reactivation of all of the DNA in the human physical form, most of which is currently shut down; and as this all occurs, your ability to bring forth the perfected human physical form, regardless of the degree of damage that has been done to it, either through injury or illness or disease, all of this will simply, you might say, dissolve and disappear; somewhat miraculously, including implants that may have been placed to, for example, pin a bone or other things of this nature. Indeed, even those cases where there have been broken bones; that excess strengthening, you might say, will disappear in this process of bringing forth this perfection.

So this is something for you all to look forward to because, if you are reading this newsletter, you are certainly one of those who will be participating in this process. And so, I trust this gives you a little better understanding of some of the variables in the process of the healing of the human physical body.

Our Energy Connection

Understanding and respecting our connectedness to all matter, all living things, will greatly improve our relationship with the earth and each other. Mindfulness of the unity of all life will impart honor, well-being, and greatness to the individual and to the Universe.

Much of the way we think about ourselves is gained through distorted information we accumulate from our culture and our mundane lives. Sadly, these misconceptions regarding our essential nature have caused many to develop poor habits that deny them an opportunity to experience true spiritual awakening.

To better understand self one must become familiar with the multiple dimensions of our being and the intelligent energy that works through these dimensions of spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical self. This understanding will lead to embodiment, realizing the divine self within and then manifesting it in our physical form. The enlightened self is able to make use of this power for healing, personal growth, and experiencing a better connection with the creative source.

This path of self discovery begins with accepting and engaging the multi dimensional self and the energy that moves through it. The physical body is made of the same matrix of energy that surrounds and composes all matter. We are part of a quantum field that is present everywhere with the potential to manifest as a material substance or the energy around it. All physical matter is simply a more dense concentration of this energy field. Because all matter including ourselves is connected, we are able to affect and be affected by one another and the whole of the universe.

The individual consciousness is able to engage the essential energy of all creation for a wealth of personal power. This empowerment allows us to create the life that we desire and the ability to share unconditional love with the all of existence.

Take back your power.

Intentional Healing

The power of intention has played a significant role in the healing of individuals throughout history. In Europe, Asia and the Mediterranean, testimonials of successful healings have been etched in stone providing a valuable insight for future generations.

“Believe me, men, I have been dead all the years I have been alive. The beautiful, the good, the holy, the evil were all the same to me; such it seems was the darkness that formerly enveloped my understanding and concealed and hid from me all these things. But now that I have come here, I have become alive, as if I had lain down in the temple of Asclepius and been saved. I walk, I talk, I think. The sun, so great, so beautiful. I have now discovered men, for the first time: now I see the clear sky, you, the air, the acropolis, the theatre.”………… Papyrus Didotrana 360 BC

The healing temples viewed and treated the whole person. This work emphasized the interactive unity of mind and body.

In his best selling book, The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter and Miracles, Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D. describes it as “. . . the new perspective on human biology does not view the body as just a mechanical device, but incorporates the role of mind and spirit. This breakthrough in biology is fundamental to healing for it shows us that when we change our perceptions or beliefs, the nervous system sends totally different messages to our cells. In effect, we reprogram them. This new biology reveals how people can have spontaneous remissions or recover from injuries thought to be permanent disabilities.”

This new look at biology also works hand in hand with our new look at physics and our improved understanding of our universe.

“The concepts which now prove to be fundamental to our understanding of nature ... seem to my mind to be structures of pure thought, ... the universe begins to look more like a great thought than a great machine.”

James Jeans, in The Mysterious Universe.

The success of Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, Healing Touch and other similar modalities depend on the intention of the practitioner.  Each of the practices has its own unique traits. However the one factor that must be present to guaranty success is the intention and focus on wellness and healing.

The effectiveness of intentional healing is well documented, discussed, and written about.  The beauty is in the simplicity of the practice. Focus on healing and then healingoccurs.

It is as if many wounds were open and they were preserved and not completely healed. The stagnant energy stored within these wounds, is now flowing into the atmosphere. It's as if all the many concerns and doubts created in the minds of humanity, for the money, disease, poverty, war and pain, were now manifesting. It's as if the Earth and humanity were clarifying all the toxins, to become purified and healed again, which will allow the reality of love, anchor. Naturally, the process of releasing and interact with these energies, negative thoughts and emotions expressed, can cause a lot of stress and pain, but we hope to help all of you stay connected to the energy of his soul, realizing that truly you are a being of love . If you wish to experience our healing energy within the Temple of Mercy, simply state this invocation:

"I now invoke my personal angels to surround me in a protective bubble of light and ask them to ensure my protection at all times and assist me in becoming aware, receptive and sensitive to the healing energy that I am about the experience. "

Imagine your personal angels surrounding you in a bubble of light involving their aura. Allow feel, understand or be aware of the color of light that surrounds them. Imagine a pure white light descending like a big, shiny cylinder around your body and your aura. You can feel the pulsing white light into your aura, raising your energy vibration, preparing them for their visit to the Temple of Mercy.

"My beloved angelic guides, I ask you to carry me safely to the Temple of Mercy. Wish I visit the Great Hall in the Temple of Mercy, where healing is being offered by many beings of light. Thank you."

Allow the white light deep into every aspect of your being and your mind. So, allow yourself to become aware of their environment. You are created at the edge of the circle to cure. Take a moment to recognize their environment. While they are positioned outside the circle, you can see the Archangel Michael to your right and your left Lady Nada.

"I honor them and thank them for allowing me to experience this healing bath to remove fear, doubt and negativity. I'm ready to get into the healing circle to accept the love and light that expand from their souls. So be it . "

Archangel Michael and Lady Nada turn in front of you, creating an entry for you in the circle. You can see that a large ball or light source is inside the circle. When you are ready, go ahead and walk to the center of the circle, getting comfortable while choosing a comfortable position. Take a few deep breaths. Allow yourself to relax and accept the light where you are now. She is healing, nourishing, purifying and elevating. Focus on light and be aware of how it influences and affects your being. You should feel a great sense of peace and focus absolutely clear that allows them to connect with the beings of light, creating the circle of light, allowing the energy of your soul shine gracefully from within your being.

Affirm: "I accept that the driving energy of light, healing, elevation, and purification, flow continuously for me of Archangel Michael, Lady Nada, Sai Baba's Avatar, Lady Amora, the Master El Morya, Lord of Melchizedek and Mahachohan Saint Germain.

As stated earlier, you will receive the energy, colors and qualities that are most needed in your life now. Be aware of them, accept them, but if grant time to contemplate the energies, enabling them to understand the energies that are needed to be integrated into your soul and your reality now. The light that you receive will help you understand more about your soul, your purpose and evolution on Earth. This is an extraordinary process of healing for you, allowing them to accept and work with the beings of light present.

Remain within this light by the time they want or feel is appropriate. When you are ready to return to their reality, ask your mind, your body and your soul, to retain the light that you are experiencing now. You can claim your angelic guides to transport them back to their reality. Then, simply become aware of your environment. To complete the meditation, you may want to share the energy they received, with Mother Earth, imagining a light stick, stretching his soul to the area of your chest, down your spine and the center of the Earth, merging in the soul of Mother Earth.

We hope to make use of this great operation healing that we are putting into the process, to allow all of humanity begins to undo the negativity and awaken to the Creator's light.

Many blessings and much love to be shared with you now,

Archangel Michael, Lady Nada, Sai Baba Avatar, Lady Amora, Master El Morya, Lord Melchizedek and Mahachohan Saint Germain

1.Please be aware of the new changes coming to your world, they have been hidden from your sight because of the dark Ones realize the game to govern yourselves and had deliberately as your support, had enough power to keep it for so long. Now they understand that your time is up and all that left is just a shadow of its former power and are no longer able to interfere with our plans to gather in clusters. Although it required a certain "time" that there will be any changes, it is time, here and now, take your power and make them happen. Do not doubt yourself because they are getting more powerful every day and every minute that passes. "Time," as you know, is also changing due to your perceptions and visions higher, and the days are getting so short that possibly can not do half of what they did previously. It's another sign that are changing and it is no longer so important to do all the tasks that were for one day. In the near future, will have "all the time in the world" for themselves and still have "time" enough to do all that is necessary. Do not forget to enjoy some of that "time" to have quiet moments, which are very important to keep you in balance.

2. The 4th of July is a very important date in your history and feel that they are just now, waiting for a lot of things happen. As the Founding Fathers created the basic principles with the Constitution, are now emerging new leaders to help the creation of the New Age in your beloved Mother Earth. Were carefully chosen, are aware of what is expected of them and bring loving vibrations with interest purest help you to the state of existence where they were before the fall of Atlantis. They feel privileged and grateful to be of help, just like you, lightworkers, knowing that they have the ability to do it and to be of vital assistance in the evolution of mankind.

3. Some still feel possessed by an ancient sadness or a subject that continues to lower their vibrations. May have been hidden, literally, for thousands of years within your unconscious and now, they are getting much stronger and more powerful, asks to be released and healed. Understand how to rid themselves of other uncomfortable subjects and also let those old break. It's just a matter of accepting that all they did was the necessary experience needed to evolve. Now that you understand the power of forgiveness, should be much easier to deal with because they would not come to be cleaned if you were not prepared or were not able to process them. Feel love for yourself and not let doubt come into your mind - when you feel the love to flow always in your heart, nothing can stop you to rise up higher, if that is your desire.

4. I am SaLuSa from Sirius, and, please, feel comfort in the days to come, it will be full of changes as expected and you will be asked to spread the knowledge and thoughts of peace for all who need them. Feel the joy of being able to help others in this way and be able to share your love, light and beautiful, wherever you go and remember they do not need, for any reason, to return to the old ways of behavior, because this is the way that chose to go. We are always with you and we send all our love.

Dwaraka, the lost city, which is mentioned in the Mahabharata as being gradually submerged into the ocean, was recently found in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Gujarat, and dated at 3000-1500 BCE. This confirms both the antiquity of the Mahabharata and Ramayana, as well as the historical truth of the works. After end of Krishna's Avatar on the earth the powerful dark-bodied Kali Age descended.

The oceans rose and submerged the whole of Dwaraka." According to Vishnu Purana - Dwaraka was submerged by the sea right after the Lord Krishna's Avatar. In the early eighties an important archaeological site was found in India, at Dwaraka, the site of the legendary city of Lord Krishna. Now, it is discovered that the whole coast of western India sank by nearly 40 feet around 1500 BCE.

The Night I Died

The Night I Died
--by Tracy Cochran, Parabola, Jun 21, 2013

I wondered what I was doing in this godforsaken place, when exactly I had become so insubstantial, agreeing to go out to the store alone at ten, agreeing to do all kinds of things I didn’t really want to do. I shivered a little with self-pity.

Manhattan in the 1980s was a gritty place. I used to think of it as having a dark glamour but no more. A few years before, I had come to Manhattan like someone drawing close to a fire. I wanted to be warmed, enlightened.

But nothing turned out the way I hoped, not love, not work, not life. I pictured myself a waif huddling along in a bleak neighborhood, bringing her own pasta to dinner. The image was so pathetic that I savored it, a fragment of a modern Dickens tale.

I was passing an empty parking lot on West 35th Street near Tenth Avenue when three men rushed out at me from the shadows of a gutted tenement across the street. I heard them before I saw them, pounding toward me, whipping past me, stopping and wheeling around, taking up stations around me, as purposeful and practiced as football players,
or predators.

For a few moments, we stood and stared at each other. Incredibly, I was gripped by an impulse to smile and make eye contact, to diffuse the situation by establishing that we were all fellow human beings, even potentially friends. They were not interested in making friends.

They were pumped up, panting, panicking. Two looked like lanky teenagers, wraith-like in dark hooded sweatshirts, eyes glazed with fear. The third was older and much bigger. A faded green sweatshirt stretched taut across his chest. His wrists dangled out of the sleeves, as if he was wearing someone else’s clothes, and maybe he was because the next day there were reports in the papers of escaped convicts in the area. His broad face was grim.

Darting behind me, he jerked his arm tight across my throat. I felt his chest heave and heard the rasping of his breath. Staring up at the side of his face, I saw a long shiny scar. It was strange to be pulled so close to someone intent on harming me, but even stranger was the sudden pang of compassion I felt for him, for the wounding that had made the scar, for the suffering he must feel to be doing this.

It was the strangest thing. Brain studies show that the readiness of the body to move precedes our awareness
of being willing and intending to move, that everything that happens is dependent on thousands—millions—of conditions and turnings of little wheels that take place below our ordinary limited level of consciousness. But the burst of compassion I felt didn’t feel like an unconsciously conditioned response, like the impulse to smile at my muggers—like almost everything I found myself doing. It was as if another, higher consciousness was descending into my consciousness.

I read a story about how no animals were found among the dead after a tsunami; sensing the infinitesimal vibration of what was coming, they headed for higher ground. Even before I could grasp what was happening, it was as if the animal of my body and my physical brain was heading for higher ground, opening to receive help from above. Even before I glimpsed the light, my heart was opening to a kind of feeling that cannot be created or destroyed by anyone, only received.

“Money!” His voice was a rasp. His massive arm was pressing down on nerves that made it impossible for me to move my arm to reach the money in my front pocket, and I couldn’t talk to tell him this. “Money now!” He pulled his grip tighter. My vision started going black around the edges. I remember thinking the situation was absurd. I couldn’t talk. I couldn’t tell him that I needed to be released to reach my money.

But I also glimpsed the larger absurdity of the larger situation: I was a young woman alone at night on a deserted side street in Hell’s Kitchen, drifting along thinking about what she liked and didn’t like about her life, what she judged to be good and bad, dreaming that she was in control of what happened, all the while oblivious to reality. “When a man knows he is to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully,” wrote Samuel Johnson. Mind suddenly terribly concentrated, I saw I was in real trouble.

My brain started working faster than it had ever worked, calculating the size and strength of my attacker, the agility of two young men guarding me, my own capacities and the probability of this or that happening if I did this
or that. My brain calculated and recalculated every aspect of the situation I was in until it concluded there could be no escape, no movie-like scene of flipping my attacker with deadly martial arts skills, throwing him into his assistants and running away. The reality I confronted was inconceivable, unworkable. My brain crashed, the screen went white. I surrendered.

It was then that I saw the light, just a glow at first but growing brighter until it became dazzling, welling up in the darkness to fill my whole body and mind. As it grew, this light gained a force and direction—an authority unknown to me. I remember marveling at the building intensity and intention, wondering where it had come from, not just low down in my body but from unseen depths—and then it became a column of brilliant white light that shot out of the top of my head, arcing high into the night sky.

A Tibetan Buddhist I met who read an earlier account of what happened to me that night told me it reminded her of a Vajrayana Buddhist practice called phowa. I also learned that Vajrayana means “diamond” or “thunderbolt” vehicle, which I understood personally because everything about the experience dazzled, was charged with force. Phowa is described as a practice of conscious dying, or transference of consciousness at the time of death, or even a flash of enlightenment without meditation. Tibetan lamas imprisoned by the Chinese were said to be able to leave their bodies this way.

But this—happening to someone who could barely sit still for a twenty minute meditation—didn’t amaze me
as much as what unfolded next. The column of light joined a much greater light that descended to meet it. Behind the abandoned tenements, behind my attackers, behind all the appearances in this world, there was a gorgeous luminosity. It was clear to me that this light was the force that holds up the world, into which all separation dissolves.

I realized that I could see myself and my attacker from behind and above. I watched myself gasping, watched my knees buckling, watched myself sink, watched myself looking up at the light. And then I was embraced by the light.

Science argues that while near-death experiences feel real they are simply fantasies or hallucinations caused by a brain under severe stress, and certainly my brain was under stress that night. A choke hold can kill in twenty to thirty seconds. Someone skilled in martial arts can knock someone out within eight seconds using such a hold, and brain damage can happen after about fifteen seconds because stopping blood flow to and from the brain can lead to brain hemorrhage, and the pressure on the heart can cause it to stop.

But science can’t account for the intimacy—for the extraordinary presence—of the experience. I didn’t just see the light, I was seen by it, and not in part but in whole. I knelt on the sidewalk, looking up at a light that was not separate from wisdom and love, a light that descended to meet me.

Afterwards, I heard the phrases “communion of saints” and “heavenly host” and “vault of heaven” and felt a thrill of recognition—my mind grasped at religious metaphors to describe what I had seen. The light was vast, vaulted, and all around. I sensed the presence of beings, ranks of beings, an ascending multitude, turning, moving, altogether forming a great witnessing conscious¬ness, in every detail and part infinitely finer and higher than my own. There are no words for the majesty and radiance of what I glimpsed and how it made me feel, lifted, seen, accepted into a vast whole.

A particular being drew very close, looking down at me from above with love that had a gravity and grace unlike anything I known. It proceeded to search me, brushing aside everything I thought I knew about myself—my name, my education, all my labels—as if it was not just unimportant but unreal. I once came up with an awkward personal metaphor for the urgency of this part of my experience: fire fighters searching a burning building, shining a light through smoke, looking for signs of life while there was still time. Strangely, I sensed that the urgency and concern weren’t for my physical life.

Finally, the searching stopped. The light came to rest at a particular spot in the center of my chest. It poured through me. I was very still, in thrall, humbled, aware that what was dear and good to this light was not any quality that I knew, but something deep and mute in my being. How long was I held in the grave and loving gaze of this higher being, this angel of awareness? Moments probably, but time meant nothing. I had the sensation that my whole life, lived and as yet unlived, was spread out for examination, that my life was being read like a book, weighed like a stone in the palm of a hand.

I saw that everything counted—or, everything real, every tear, all our suffering. That I didn’t “believe” in
any of this—that I was too cool, too skeptical, too educated to be dazzled by experiences that were clearly, had to be, subjective, that I would never resort to hackneyed religious metaphors, and images like weighing and reading—that also didn’t count. My opinions about what I believed or didn’t believe, what I was capable of or not capable of, were just smoke to be brushed away.

I was lifted up into a field of light and love, flooded with a feeling of liberation, of rejoicing. It was like flying, rising above the clouds into bright sunlight, except that it was more radiant. It was exalted, sublime yet welcoming. Everything I knew fell away, yet I felt completely accepted and acceptable, completely known, completely loved, completely free. There were no words, just experience. Yet ever since, I have wondered if this is what salvation is like, to be lifted
up out of the fog of separation, of sin, of forever missing the mark, and delivered into the whole, into the reality behind the appearances of the world.

It was clear that this radiant light, this loving consciousness, held everything that is. It was the alpha and omega, the particle and wave, the unifying force of the universe, suffusing us, carrying us when we leave this body, accompanying us always and everywhere, appearing in us when we are open to receive.

I knew I wouldn’t stay long in this radiance, in this sublime love and freedom. I was still sinking to my knees on a dirty sidewalk in Hell’s Kitchen, still struggling to breathe. Yet, as strange as it sounds, I wasn’t struggling inside. I was still. It felt as if I was falling to my knees in prayer—surrendering, not to this attack but to something that was infinitely higher. I understood that a life could have a different sense and meaning, that it could be spent seeking, purifying, practicing—I couldn’t find a word that conveyed the glimpse I had better than the words of the prayer, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.”

The being who searched me—who saw me inside and outside, past, present, and future, told me without words to relax, the struggle would soon pass, I would not be harmed. I would return. I would go on. The light withdrew.

My attacker loosened his grip just enough to allow me to reach a ten dollar bill in the front pocket of my jeans. I threw the bill on the ground. My attacker jerked his arm off my throat, scooped up the bill, and ran off with the others. I stood up. I had my life back. I stared up at

the night sky, then down at the ripped grocery bag, wondering why the muggers hadn’t taken the cigarettes
and the six-pack of beer.

“Of all the pitfalls in our paths and the tremendous delays and wanderings off the track I want to say that they are not what they seem to be,” writes the artist Agnes Martin. “I want to say that all that seems like fantastic mistakes are not mistakes, all that seems like error is not error; and it all has to be done. That which seems like a false step is
the next step.”

I walked back to my ex-boy friend’s apartment, shaking with sobs. I wasn’t harmed. Settled at the long dining room table in his book-lined loft, tears streaming down, I choked out the story, insisting that I wasn’t harmed. Never mind the weeping, I told him. I was fine, really, perfectly calm at center of the storm, you see. My ex-boyfriend looked miserable. The crying went on and on. He pushed a twenty dollar bill across the table towards me, repaying me for the groceries. I brushed it away and he pushed it back. Just take it.

We aren’t in control in the way we think we are, I told him. Things happen, even terrible things, but they are not what they seem to be. And we aren’t alone. There is a light, a luminosity behind the appearances of this world. There is a luminous, loving intelligence above us, watching over us, caring for us. I knew how this sounded. Religious, mystical, unbelievable. Do you believe me, not about the mugging but about the light? He shook his head no, scowling softly, sorry for me. He just could not.

In the weeks and years that followed, I learned this is how it goes with personal revelation. I was an unreliable narrator, no more so than any other ordinary human, but still very limited, subject to dreams, to the wheels and levers of conditioning. But the experience never grew dim. I told it to people I trusted, or the dying. I told it to my father in his last days, and to another dear old friend near his end. I sure hope you’re right, he said.

What we really have to share is not any spiritual treasure we imagine we have stored up, but our poverty, our common human situation, our inability to know.

Many years after that night in Hell’s Kitchen, I still drift through the world lost in thought, captivated by stories and images. But I know a greater reality and a greater awareness exists. I know there is a truth that cannot be thought, only received.

The Ant and the Contact Lens: A TRUE STORY

Brenda was almost halfway to the top of the tremendous granite cliff. She was standing on a ledge where she was taking a breather during this, her first rock climb. As she rested there, the safety rope snapped against her eye and knocked out her contact lens.

'Great', she thought. 'Here I am on a rock ledge, hundreds of feet from the bottom and hundreds of feet to the top of this cliff, and now my sight is blurry.' She looked and looked, hoping that somehow it had landed on the ledge. But it just wasn't there.

She felt the panic rising in her, so she began praying. She prayed for calm, and she prayed that she might find her contact lens. When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but it was not to be found. Although she was calm now that she was at the top, she was saddened because she could not clearly see across the range of mountains. She thought of the bible verse 'The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth.'

She thought, 'Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me.'

Later, when they had hiked down the trail to the bottom of the cliff they met another party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, 'Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?'

Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across a twig on the face of the rock, carrying it!

The story doesn't end there. Brenda's father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a cartoon of an ant lugging that contact lens with the caption, 'Lord, I don't know why You want me to carry this thing. I can't eat it, and it's awfully heavy.

But if this is what You want me to do, I'll carry it for You.'

I think it would do all of us some good to say, 'God, I don't know why You want me to carry this load. I can see no good in it and it's awfully heavy. But, if You want me to carry it, I will.'

God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
Yes, I do love GOD. He is my source of existence and my Savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him...I can do all things.
