The third chakra is the Manipura Chakra which is located at the solar-plexus.
It has ten petals and radiates the color yellow.
The solar-plexus is also known as the seat of the fire within the body
because this is the chakra of the life force.
Parts of the body influenced by this chakra are:
the digestive system, skin, liver, pancreas, skin and breath.
A well-balanced Manipura chakra endows the Being with inner strength which manifests
in the performance of actions with ease and grace.
It governs our material well-being and inner peace.
The chakra embodies personal power, self-esteem and energy.
The presiding Deity for this chakra is Braddha Rudra (Old Shiva)
who respresents the power of destruction; all that exists returns to him.
He has camphor-blue skin and a silver beard, and sits in his wrathful
form on a golden tiger skin symbolic of the tiger of the mind that dwells
in the forest of desires, smeared with ashes.
The tiger represents manas, the mind.
The energy generated by him is Lakini Shakti.
The gemstones that benefit this chakra are:
topaz, gold, amber and ruby.
CHAKRA BIJA or SEED MANTRA
RAM (rahm)
Seed sound for the Manipura chakra, located at the solar-plexus.
The ruling element is Fire and the quality is form.
Meditate on Ram and see a "friendly" fire that is part of you.
When this energy becomes balanced, stomach ailments and digestive problems
disappear.
