These kayakers were joined by an unexpected guest during a gentle paddle - when a 40ft whale rose from the water just a few feet away.

Casually minding their own business the kayakers were paddling along trying to spot whales in the distance at Monterey Bay in California, USA.

But suddenly the 80,000lb beast rose from the water almost within touching distance of the shocked pair, who couldn't believe their eyes as the once-in-a-lifetime scene unfolded.

Laws state that nobody can approach a whale within 100 yards of them, but the mammoth mammal decided to take them by surprise instead.

The incredible moment was captured by Giancarlo Thomae, a marine biologist from Moss Landing in California, while on a day trip whale watching last weekend.

He said: 'We were kayak whale watching and the whales just came right up to us. For being some of the largest animals on the planet they were very graceful.

'The whole encounter that happened between Karen and I lasted about three-quarters of a second. The whale dove three-feet from her kayak and didn't get one drop of water in it.

'Humpback whales are very curious and playful animals and get very friendly with kayakers and boaters - although maybe sometimes a bit too friendly.'

Voodoo with Reiki.

Voodoo, as its' self is really just another way of saying "Everything in our world is connected by energy."

This is the same as Reiki, and a lot of other Spiritualist beliefs. (I don't know many but they seem to go round this.)

So it is really simple, all you have to do is as follows;

1: Make your voodoo doll. You should do this carefully so that is is a like the person you wish to heal.(Please do not pick me up on this, I only do this for good purposes.)

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT2fP7SodPMwn5RcVKQ6tEEULFiEZUwrNEkTtBeznkeD-n-FxGw

2: When preparing for healing, cast the Reiki Distance and Power symbols on the chest of the doll.

3: Envisage you are directing Reiki to the person the doll was made for. Remember that it is very important to not constantly have this healing line open, or you could get energy vampires, or damage the person you are healing by moving the doll when it is still in use.

4: When the healing is over, make sure you close the line and store the doll in a safe place with a nice environment, as in -- not a dark larder or cold cellar.

There, not to hard, was it? Pretty simple to get your head round.

I hope you enjoy working with this, but remember to ALWAYS close your healing line.

Yahoo! News UK - Spectacular: Photographer Tim Vollmer said 'no two icebergs are the same' (Caters)
They are the spectacular phenomenon which loom large in some of the Earth's least hospitable areas.

Now the majestic beauty of Iceland's biggest icebergs and glaciers has been captured by a brave photographer, who spent months taking these remarkable images.

The stunning series of shots show the variety in shape, size, and colour of the glistening ice on the European island country.

And due to the ever-changing appearance of the ice they insist they never get bored - because they will never come across the same iceberg more than once.

Photographer Tim, from Germany, who organises workshops to the region said: "Marketa and I moved to Iceland in 2005 and we instantly fell in love with the snow and ice.

"We became fascinated by the textures and tones. Every day we go out to shoot pictures the light, formation, shape and colours are completely different.

"The lifecycle of the landscape creates unbelievable sights. All these images were taken over the last couple of months but if I went back now they would look different.

Photographer Tim said the colours in Iceland are 'unlike any others in the world' (Caters)

"It's an adventure everytime because there is always something new to photograph.

"Some of the colours are so spectacular I don't think you could see them anywhere else in the world.

"We first started taking images to capture the place we were in for the memories but now we want to highlight the beauty of the ice and show others what makes them exciting.

"More and more we find ourselves going out to take photos - it's a special area for us."
