Exactly. I agree with what has been said in the video. You have to understand the nature of the dark forces in order to gain and thoroughly understand the nature of good/light forces so that you'll be able to work with it effieciently. For instance, if you consider a police officer(good guy/good force) and a criminal(bad guy/evil force). In order for the police officer to catch the criminal he has to have a good knowledge of what crime is and how it is committed and what things does the criminal do in order to give rise to crime. By having this knowledge the police officer can tackle the criminal and stop him from committing crime. Hence, he has the total control of the situation which results in peace. In the same way in order to have a control over evil forces or to eradicate them you have to have to understand them very well which will make you understand and work with the good/light forces more efficiently and to its fullest extent. And, always remember to choose the right/correct/good path no matter what the situation demands....
