Many Buddhists practice their religion at home.
Practicing Buddhism at home is the act of bringing religion into everyday life. By taking the steps to practice at home, you will find that you have the time and energy for things that matter most to you like mindful action and thoughtful meditation. Incorporating your practice into your daily life at home is a good way to integrate the things that matter to you most.

Instructions
1 Build a library of books about Buddhist teachings, practices and meditations. Use these books to help you as you practice at home .
2 Set up a home alter. The home alter need not be overtly religious, although Buddhist symbols may be used to center it. Other items that are meaningful to you may also be used. Traditional items on a Buddhist alter include a bell, candle, flowers, incense burner and meditation beads.
3 Set aside 20 to 30 minutes each day to practice meditation. This can be done alone, with your family , or with a group of other Buddhists. If you choose to meditate with a group, you may wish to rotate between homes so that no one person is elevated to a position of power.
4 Cultivate an attitude of mindfulness as you go about your day at home or work. Take the time to notice what you are doing, how you feel and how your actions are affecting or will affect others.
