In conjunction with your Higher Self, you download the attunement into your energetic matrix from a Master "hands on" or distantly. You can even download attunements from your Higher Self, or even Source in silent meditation.
Once attuned you may notice a tingly sensation crawling all over and may become drained, stay away from cell phones and electromagnetic radiation.
This is normal for adjusting to your new frequency as energetic blockages are clearing and your chakras widen.
Some notice a complete change in eating and exercising habits, all for the highest and greatest good of the new channel.
I find the energy is only as strong as the channel is clear.
From my experience a Vegan diet has done wonders for my energetic channeling and spiritual growth overall.

On a second note... I did a couple of the distant attunements on this site and last weekend I was so tired/drained I could not explain it. However, this post brings some clarity to what happened.
